  1. After a day on the bench James went 3 for 4 today including a double
  2. Yes I forgot the "oi, oi, oi" and I am from Melbourne and other than James Beresford's family I am probably his biggest fan on this side of the Pacific
  3. people talk about a player giving say "110%" but that's impossible and it implies at times the player is giving less than 100%, but having known James since an 8 yo I know you will always get a fight from him, always giving HIS 100% to the team
  4. Santana made 32 errors this season (26 in 2012) , maybe he would be better at DH with Beresford the much better fielder at SS.
  5. Santana made 32 errors this season (26 in 2012) , maybe he would be better at DH with Beresford the much better fielder at SS.
  6. Another example of James and his playing tough when the game gets tough, 4 hits from 5 at bats with a double and as usual finesse with the glove at 2nd. Good win by Rochester, hope they can keep going
  7. What does this mean? As an old pitcher I would hate seeing Santana error another ground ball making me have to go to the next batter, 31 errors so far this season I would not call "good defence"
  8. Hey Seth, I know he did not hit any home runs etc. but James Beresford batted .351 at Rochester in July with 20 hits from 18 games.
  9. Must be frustrating for James, todays game (1 Aug) means 15 games since All Star game with James playing in only 7
  10. Baseball thank goodness is a game that can level out everyone, the bigger you think you are the bigger you can fall, I hope Sano's attitude to his team mates is sincere like when on Sunday he also struck out twice and made another one of his growing errors, hopefully he will learn that you can have that bit of fire in your game but you cannot disrespect the game.
  11. Thank you SD, I agree that James maybe should look at playing out the season building on the experience and creating a 'base' for next season, maybe I am slightly bias and a bit harsh by thinking he is not getting the opportunities when, other than not hitting home runs, his promotion to Rochester has been outstanding both batting average wise and defensively.
  12. Being a long way away from the centre of Baseball I need some educating in the thinking of Twins baseball, can someone (Steth, SD, Shane etc) give me a qualified thought on why James is on the bench so much and maybe why no matter New Britain had, and now Rochester have, in the infield roster he does not get to play SS
  13. Not only pitching rotation, infielders struggle to get 2 games in a row
  14. Average fell for 'last 10 games' to .393 with 3 hits today, now batting 20 hits from 21 games at Rochester, still getting splinters on the bench consistently.
  15. Another multi hit game last night, James is batting .407 over last 10 games, he is still not getting regular games and has not been played at SS, as would be expected though in the field he is still excellent with only 1 error in 18 games
  16. "Dozier has no prospects behind him in Rochester" I know its early days for Beresford at Rochester but he can play either SS or 2nd expertly and could fill either position
  17. These comments could not be more accurate, having known James as a baseballer from the age of 8 he has always expressed this attitude in his baseball career, making the majors or not he will give you and his team 100% all the time
  18. Good start for James at Rochester, safe hit, BB & RBi and as expected no fielding errors
  19. Good luck James, as his baseball history has shown he will at least give AAA all he can, go with the flow mate and enjoy
  20. Beresford has been selected at SS 4 times......why such a limited selection by team management? What error stats are you looking at? total number of errors or errors when playing SS, I have no figures but his error count over the past years would be very minimal, to say "a fair amount of errors" is a bit unfounded. This season he has 4 errors, two are wild throws, one an attempted DP the other a cut off attempt at a runner so therefore he has had 2 "fielding" errors............the SS who has played the remainder of the games has 18 errors.............go figure. Walks are thrown by pitchers so how can you blame the batter as not "great at getting walks"
  21. Comparisons between Beresford and Santana, Beresford is leading batting for infielders (4th overall) in Eastern League (333) whilst Santana now has 18 errors
  22. And today.................. Santana not playing (rested or just benched?) so Adam Petterson is played at SS? Very "mystifying"
  23. I cant understand team managements decisions to push Beresford to 2nd "for Santanas sake" 2 more fielding errors today by Santana cant be a positive team move!
  24. Well said SD, it is always up to the player to make the most of opportunities, hopefully James will get the opportunities, at the moment his game play cant be overlooked
