    10 days off for a stomach ailment? The worst case of Montezuma's Revenge usually only lasts for 3-5 days at most (and I don't think the Twins went to Mexico on that last road trip). Methinks management is stretching the spirit of the new IL rule a bit.

    Wow, ain't that the truth! I would like to posit that the new "10 Day IL" perhaps has made it verrrry tempting for both management and players to utilize as a short respite, rather than "playing through" the nagging injuries.

    So... the Twins beat the Sox by 7 runs in each game, but the White Sox took that series? You might want to proof that paragraph again. Actually, that series in May reflected the Twins very well, when they are healthy- with their best defensive team on the field- and hitting like they are capable of doing, they are extremely efficient- especially against the average, mediocre and bad teams.

    Normally, asking for just one passable inning in his MLB debut- from a lowly 19th round draft pick- against a top-flite offensive team like the Red Sox, would have been the best possible scenario. Let's say Baldelli REALLY pushed the envelope after Poppen somehow survived two scoreless innings- with two highly atypical double plays. Baldelli's Mom is probably glad he didn't choose to go to flight school.

    Uhhh.... last night the pen somehow inexplicably and miraculously survived more Perils than Pauline ever did. * Gutty, gutty performances, but not likely replicable too often. Pen still needs a lot of help. But... a truly amazing game that purists can appreciate. Proves there's no need to change the extra innings rules! * (Including the reruns)
