  1. Wondering about the high salaries that seem to rise astronomically? With 2014 soon coming to a close, Bud Selig and Major League Baseball can look back and say, “It was a very good year.” The league will see approx. $9 billion in gross revenues for the 2014 calendar year, a new record. ... That figure is up from $8 billion just last year, a staggering increase of 13 percent. http://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2014/12/10/major-league-baseball-sees-record-9-billion-in-revenues-for-2014/ We should all do so well. Of course, some teams did "much weller" than others due to local media revenues.
  2. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS · 10m10 minutes ago neshek has a deal with astos. good pickups for houston. Derrick Goold ‏@dgoold · 6m6 minutes ago Reliever Pat Neshek, pursued by #Pirates, signs with #Astros for two years, $12.5 million, pending physical. Gets to stay in FLA for spring.
  3. I want to see if they can use the data to help Joe Mauer,
  4. No! Mauer is finally getting adjusted to first and Twins have plenty of first base candidates. No more reunion tours.
  5. It's only money. Isn't there some middle ground between the Sox and Twins?
  6. To me, this is annoying: Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN · 1h1 hour ago The Kansas City, Detroit, Cleveland and White Sox games are going to have a whole different feel to them in 2015. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN · 49m49 minutes ago AL Central pitchers include: Kluber, Sale, Price, Samardzija, Sanchez, Verlander, Duffy, Ventura, Quintana, Salazar, Guthrie, Porcello. Meanwhile, Hughes and Perkins are crying for companionship...
  7. Molitor on Mauer (via Berardino): http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/12/08/twinsights-know-wants-win-paul-molitor-says-joe-mauer/
  8. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 22m22 minutes ago In Toronto, Colabello will compete with fellow ex-Twin Danny Valencia for RH side of 1B platoon w/Justin Smoak.
  9. Add to more names to the list of pitchers the Twins are interested in. One is Logan Ondrusek, a righthander who was non-tendered by the Reds after posting a 5.49 ERA in 40 appearances last season. The other is righthander Dustin McGowan, who was 5-3, 4.17 in 53 games (eight starts) with the Blue Jays last season. If the Twins sign Ondrusek, it might be to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/blogs/285120481.html Please note it is LEN3 who confysed two and too. Thought this was as good a place as any to add more names.
  10. Dustin Morse ‏@Twins_morsecode · 1m1 minute ago The Blue Jays have claimed Chris Colabello off waivers. The #MNTwins roster is now at 39. Enjoyed your story. Hope to see it continue.
  11. Welcome to the dark side, (Some days darker than others.)
  12. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS · 46m46 minutes ago Terry Ryan is flattered by someone speculating that another team is interested in him, but "Ryan is a Twin," a friend says
  13. Torii Hunter ‏@toriihunter48 · 54m54 minutes ago Talked to @MikeBerardino and we have settled our differences. Looking forward to working with him in the future. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 12m12 minutes ago Same here "@toriihunter48: Talked to @MikeBerardino and we have settled our differences. Looking forward to working with him in the future.”
  14. Berardino didn't ruin it, Torii did. It would have been a non-story if Torii hadn't called out Berardino. He had already answered the questions and I doubt whether anyone would have made much of the answers (in fact you have to search the stories to get what was said because the name-calling is the lead.) Torii has been around the game long enough to know to watch his language. All this does is show him to be a hothead.
  15. Mostly I was hoping Hunter returning wouldn't happen .... and I had plenty of opportunities to express that on TD ... and did.
  16. http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/12/03/twinsights-torii-katrina-hunter-discuss-impact-political-backlash-job-search/
  17. Torii was already p*ssed over the defensive metrics question. Imagine that, a reporter actually asking questions,
  18. I think Torii's reaction to Berardino is a reflection on just how soft the TC media has been.
  19. There hasn't been an announcement yet because he hasn't taken his physical.
  20. Donalsdon-Beane weren't the best of friends: http://bloguin.com/theoutsidecorner/the-locker/josh-donaldson-billy-beane-clashed-days.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=josh-donaldson-billy-beane-clashed-days
  21. What happened to the Berardino speculation that the Twins wouldn't go over about $5 million? $10.5m sure blows that all to h*ll.
  22. Well, now that I've read the Strib comments (at least the ones so far), I get what the Twins were hoping for -- almost universally positive,
  23. keithlaw ‏@keithlaw · 18m18 minutes ago Torii Hunter is barely a replacement-level player. This feels like the Ken Griffey Jr return to Seattle.
  24. No. No to Ichiro. No to Toriii, Just No. No more retreads, No more over-the-hill,
