  1. I wish him well and I hope he takes the lesson to heart and learns from his own stupidity. While many of you may believe that marijuana will eventually be legal everywhere, it isn't at this point. And many lessons may well be learned from Colorado and Washington. The Twins appear to have handled this well. Let's see if Rosario does so going forward.
  2. I would think that it would be the earlier one that was postponed and that the make-up game would be played as the Tuesday game if possible. That would keep it "cleanest" from a ticketing standpoint. And I don't think it makes much if any difference which game is postponed except from that standpoint.
  3. I've always been of the opinion that the stupid stuff you do before you are 25 should be easily forgiven. Rosario won't be 25 until late in 2016 so I'm prepared to give him more chances. I hope he gets it together for his sake and for the sake of his family. From the Twins' standpoint, I'd be concerned but it does seem like the organization has been handling this well.
  4. Minnesota Twins ‏@Twins 27m The #MNTwins have designated LHP Kris Johnson as the 26th man for Thursday's split doubleheader. He will start the 2nd game vs. the Dodgers.
  5. But is this an unwritten rule or is it an actual requirement? Now my interest is piqued! (And is Nolasco starting on Friday now???)
  6. I've lived in both, too and got FSN North in both places but going back even further than that, I remember a number of Twins games on broadcast TV out of Sioux Falls -- for some reason it strikes me as Channel 13. (This was before the prevalence of cable and other regional sports networks). I don't remember seeing the same kind of Twins coverage out of Sioux City. I grew up in northwest Iowa then moved away for a number of years and then moved back so I can't pinpoint exactly when the regular season coverage was on broadcast TV but I have some memory of it. That Twins connection was just always a lot stronger out of Sioux Falls (and WNAX out of Yankton for radio) than it ever was with the Sioux City stations.
  7. It's all getting switching around again, anyway. This from Gardenhire: Rhett Bollinger ‏@RhettBollinger 13m Gardenhire said Kyle Gibson will be pushed back to start against Zack Greinke tomorrow. Mike Pelfrey will start Game 1 of DH. Game 2 is TBA. (Mike: Apparently when it was thought that Nolasco & Pelfrey were both going to start on Thursday, Nolasco was going to start the 1st game and he supposedly got to pick which game he wanted to start because he has more service time than Pelfrey).
  8. Nolasco and Pelfrey are starting on Thursday .... so I would guess that Deduno gets a spot start (and maybe it won't be so "spot" in the long run).
  9. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 3m Nolasco will throw early game Thursday, Pelfrey the nightcap. Nolasco's choice due to edge in service time.
  10. Thanks for posting that. So, does "dates" mean "days" not "games"? It also uses the term "if practicable" so that gives some extra wiggle room. The rule would definitely seem to favor double-headers even if that causes the team to play more than 20 games between open dates.
  11. You're welcome. I'd keep that rain/cold weather gear handy -- looks like all of the games this week may suffer from the elements.
  12. The map is fun -- it looks to me that even outside their core market, the Yankees have 5-15% of market share just about everywhere. And higher when the area doesn't have a strong allegience to another team. Red Sox also have a pretty strong national following. Also looked at northern Nebraska -- have to wonder if WNAX hasn't had some nice benefit for the Twins over the years.
  13. Minnesota Twins ‏@Twins 28m Thursday’s 12:10 p.m. game will be played as originally scheduled, with the rescheduled game beginning at 6:10 p.m.
  14. I was really think of it in the context of the Fox games of the week. When the Twins were good, it irked me that I could watch most games on FSN but if there was a game on Fox, I wouldn't get to see it because Sioux City is a "Cubs Market" and the Sioux Falls Fox signal is pretty weak. Surprising how that hasn't bothered me much the last few years.
  15. Didn't dodge fast enough today. Today's game postponed until Thursday night.
  16. And another game bites the rain. Tuesday's game postponed until Thursday night.
  17. What comes first, the chicken or the egg? Is the allegience born because it is what we see on TV or do we see what we see on TV as a result of the allegiences already in place? When it comes to "free" TV, it always kills me that Sioux City is a "Cubs" market. Now by the map, I see Woodbury County (Sioux City) is marginally Cubs and south of there tends to be Cubs as well whereas to the north, it is a Twins market. Sioux Falls is historically a Twins market -- and many places north of Sioux City get Sioux Falls stations. But to the south, let's face it, a lot of people have gotten WGN for a long time. How much effect does that have on allegiences? The other thing that surprises me about Iowa is that the Cards haven't made bigger inroads.
  18. New little tidbits in almost every story about him and glimpses into what it means to truly want -- and work for -- something with everything that is in you. Keep it going, CC.
  19. A cat is a cat, And a duck is a duck, But a dog is a person.
  20. I think that would be especially true with games within the division -- where there should be a number of opportunities for double-headers. But this whole week is looking a little iffy .... may need one of those open dates to make up a game with the Dodgers.
  21. No make-up date set but LEN3 mentioned 8/23 as a possible make-up date -- 6:10 p.m. game on a Saturday so they could schedule a game for early afternoon. Probably want to save open dates as much as possible.
  22. Dogs in the house. Cats in the barn. That's the way it was meant to be.
  23. Mr. Rainout at 3rd ... and every other base.
  24. Hold those thoughts ........
  25. As many times as I've hit the button, I'm going to have to go to one of my neighbors and arrange to buy a herd of steers. Then I'll have to go pluck some garden goods for Thrylos. Geez..... So glad that button says "wants" not "will"!!!
