  1. Well, Gardy, you tried giving him a day off. Try moving him down in the line-up for awhile.
  2. But, but, but according to Perkins it's a better quality 29-33: "It's exciting, because the last few years, even last year, our record was similar but the results last year didn't match the process," said Twins closer Glen Perkins. "The results are matching the process a little more this year. If anything, I think we could be a little better than we are. . . . http://msn.foxsports.com/north/story/morales-signing-breathes-life-into-twins-clubhouse-060814
  3. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 3m Gardy on Mauer's day: "I guarantee he needed it. There’s no doubt in my mind. Not so much physically. It was more mentally." Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 1m Gardy on Mauer: "He was a little beat up. He was beating himself up." 1 day probably not enough. Gotta wonder how much is still concussion-related.
  4. THANK YOU! It's been bugging me.
  5. Is the 2nd line Men on base but not in RISP???
  6. How familiar are you all with the stats on baseball reference? When you look at the splits page, there is a line called RISP and then a line under it titled "....." Anybody know what the difference is? The second line always seems to be a fair amount lower than the 1st.
  7. Plouffe 2014, RISP: .282/.386/.338/.704
  8. Knocked some rust off the eyes, there.
  9. You would have thought the Stress level would have been higher in "Twins Territory" after the last 3 years.
  10. But free bases are okay, too.
  11. Let's tie this thing up, big Ozzie!
  12. Well, according to the Maid Rite website they have shops in St. Cloud, Brainerd and Bimiji!
  13. As long as you're eatin' Bacon apparently everything is all right if I am to judge from the TV cooking shows!
  14. Actually I don't have Maid Rites around the corner. They are more of a central-eastern Iowa thing. "Taverns" in Sioux City are similar but in my rural area, taverns are what most people elsewhere call Sloppy Joes. in school we had things called loosemeats which were basically a Maid-Rite. Now THAT was more than you wanted to know!!!
  15. The heartland, meanwhile, seems to be the least stressed part of America. North Dakota came in at the bottom of the list, just below Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Nebraska. "It looks like both the coasts of America are pretty stressful, while the Midwest is a little more relaxed," notes Isha Aran at Jezebel. "Maybe people just need to get away from people a bit more often." We get our heart attacks from red meat ... not stress.
  16. The Twins are fun to watch but the pitching is TOO much of an adventure.
  17. I should have known not to take out the trash. 2-9 to 0-3 in the blink of an eye.
  18. Has some CWS games to work off that mad. Really looking forward to seeing him. Somewhat mentioned in the minor league threads that Louisville plays Vandy on Saturday -- so maybe we could catch a glimpse.
  19. Well, we know a couple are wearing pink. I'm waiting for the one who is brave enough to wear peach!
  20. At least one Detroit blogger thought Burdi might be the answer to some of Detroits bullpen woes: http://motorcitybengals.com/2014/06/05/draft-day-nick-burdi-tigers-best-option/ So maybe Burdi had some reasonable late 1st/early 2nd round expectations. Assume the Twins can't sign him until Louisville is out of the CWS?
  21. Retweeted by Seth Stohs Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo Jun 6 Source: #Twins in agreement with 9th round pick (260 overall) Max Murphy. He gets $130K--under slot value of $150,600. Don't know if Cotillo was right though because I can't find anything else. May have been premature.
