  1. First inning lead .... not sure I remember what that is.
  2. So cool here I may have to close some of the windows overnight.
  3. Great column, JC. I was really glad to see that he played well fo the Miracle last night. While it doesn't seem like he needs it, I'm sure that "cup of coffee" was just a little more incentive.
  4. http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/team/draft.jsp?c_id=min Hasn't updated for Curtiss yet.
  5. Glad to see you apparently survived the winds last night, Chi.
  6. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 2m Per @jimcallisMLB, 6th-rd RHP John Curtiss signed w/#mntwins for $266,900. No scholarship money b/c he graduated in 3 yrs, double major.
  7. si.com (even as poorly redesigned as it is) has an article on 5 hitters likely to be traded. Tops on their list is Willingham: Josh Willingham, LF, Twins A trade of Willingham has seemed inevitable ever since the ink dried on the three-year, $21 million contract he signed with the Twins in December 2011. A production-sapping knee injury that shelved him for all of July wiped out the chance of a deal last year, but now that he’s in the final year of that contract and his calling-card patience and power have returned, a trade sending Willingham out of Minnesota seems once again, well, inevitable. Willingham suffered a fractured wrist in early April, but since returning from the disabled list in late May, he has reached base at a .388 clip while slugging .495 with seven homers in 31 games. Those numbers have come despite a .238 average, and that's due to some bad luck on balls in play. Willingham is a lousy fielder, but he has a history of thriving in pitchers parks and is making just $7 million this year. http://www.si.com/mlb/2014/07/01/five-hitters-likely-be-moved-trade-deadline Even got his picture on the front page of the mlb portion of the site.
  8. So far he's only running in the pool, though. Until he's running on land, I'm not sure anyone can make predictions on a return date. Wasn't it when he touched a base that it really hurt him (not just 1st base on that last night but I think he said he had noticed it another time when he touched base)?
  9. Dustin Morse ‏@Twins_morsecode 36m The #MNTwins have signed their 6th round draft pick - RHP John Curtiss. He will report to Elizabethton today.
  10. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino 15m Since climbing to 23-21 in San Diego six weeks ago, #mntwins have gone 14-23, been swept 3 times and gone 3-7-2 in past 12 series. I'll say 6-7 over the next 13 games.
  11. Brice Zimmerman ‏@ZimMiracle 22m Jorge Polanco showing no signs of a letdown after MLB stint. 3-for-4 with a double, run scored and nice diving grab at second base. For the Miracle.
  12. Must be that those urban coyotes are fat and sassy. Rural coyotes just slink around .... maybe that's why they don't live as long.
  13. Well, now I feel sorry for the geese. Really an interesting article. Thanks.
  14. It might be nice if Pino got out of this and the Twins actually did something. I can tell we're all bored.
  15. They've apparently called in the FBI. But yeah, they are in damage repair mode and calling some of it total fabrication.
  16. They are one of the uglier animals in existence. And they have to feel a bit trapped in the city.
  17. See here's the thing, you guys actually HAVE Animal Control. The vet next door is about the best I can do. Fortunately the most dangerous thing I've seen around is coyotes. And they pretty much just run away if they spot anyone.
  18. You're getting the ones we had overnight and this morning. And Cedar Rapids had this afternoon: http://www.metrosportsreport.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=21200:kernels-staff-hurt-as-storm-hits-stadium&catid=234:kernels-home&Itemid=429 Be careful out there!
  19. Okay, so I guess I should just be thankful.
  20. LOL. I don't coexist very peaceably with wild animals. If it was de-stinked, I think I could deal with it (looked like a young, small skunk). But I'm like a block from open fields -- you'd think it could just leave us alone. Last year we thought the skunk was looking for water but this year we're thinking maybe the fields are too wet. And I'm not as kind as you, I'd have let Animal Control take the skunk.
