  1. no, but at least I will be somewhere nicer enjoying the $12 beer instead of inside a dump
  2. i like dive bars too, I just don't like paying $12 a beer and $30 cover to get in
  3. I know I'm in the minority but I think Fenway is a dump and should be torn to the ground.
  4. Hope the Twins 1-4 can get it done, because that 5-9 portion of the lineup is downright ugly. Mauer should be in both games, DH him both games if need be. Rosario should be in the lineup every day taking his lumps, yes he is leftie, but he is actually hitting LHP in the majors (yeah I know SSS) but an OPS of .863 is solid. Besides, I think we all hope that Rosario is an every day major leaguer eventually, which means he should be getting at bats against LHP quite often, even more so when the other "options" for his spot in the lineup/LF include Robinson, Nunez and Escobar. Ugh.
  5. Cameron is a smart guy, but he has a tough time looking at things without a bias. I still remember his "The Mariners are the 4th best organization" bit a couple years ago.
  6. Milone is under team control for 2016, 2017 and 2018. One more reason why the Twins should be doing everything they can to find a rube to take Nolasco off our hands (even if the Twins have to eat 50-60%)
  7. I thought Young was just fine this year, I however hated that he was traded for Garnett. I feel they could have gotten at least something better than a 40+ year old that provides no real NBA value anymore. Bennett is a lottery ticket, hopefully he can figure it out.
  8. Agreed, Milone needs to be starting every 5-6 days, whether that is in AAA or MLB is the real question. The "mop up"/spot starter guy can literally be anyone.
  9. The Twins really messed this one up. Should have DL'ed Nolasco yesterday, called up Vargas for the double header, then send down one of Vargas/Santana on Thursday and call up Milone. Instead we are going to waste that roster space on a double header day and just waste a roster space on Nolasco who will be DL'ed in a few days anyways.
  10. Good news! Escobar isn't DH today! Bad news! He is at 3B, with Nunez DH and Santana at SS.
  11. Brock, never should have gotten rid of the BYTO Facebook group, would have been much easier to reach out to all of them to bring them back into the TD fold, but then again that would go against Brocks anti- BYTO pro Hitler agenda of course.
  12. It's actually not an insulting portrayal, an insulting portrayal would be to imply that they do care about the DH production currently and continue to play Escobar there out of incompetence. I'm not sure why we need to hijack this topic/thread over the use of the word punt, because it somehow places some blame of the situation on Molitor and TR. Which is bizzarre because TR and Molitor are the two guys that actively are choosing to run out Escobar at DH (which is a terrible baseball decision that anyone can see) Now, that boils down to two options: 1. They are "punting" the DH "best or better" option in the recent past, present and near future (hopefully not for two long) 2. They for some reason think that Escobar is a better DH option then Arcia, Pinto, Vargas, AAAA player off waivers, Rosario, etc. I'm going with 1 since I think TR and Molitor both know what they are doing, if it was #2 I would be advocating for them both to be fired.
  13. I wish Gardy would have put Punto in the 4 hole and DH just ONCE to see how BYTO would have instantly blown up and ended the internet as we know it.
  14. Over the past few days I have seen a lot of whining, tattle telling ("this guy said this about the coach and inferred this about me and its not nice") and a lot of ticky tack stuff (I'm sure the mods inboxes are getting filled up with even more of this stuff) Is it possible that everyone can just act like an adult and stop taking everything so personally when it comes to a word, description, thought or idea they don't agree with? I am sure the mods would appreciate it, and I know I certainly would. I'm not saying things need to be the wild west, but I think everyone should have just a tiny bit of thick skin and stop taking things so personally (in the 3+ negative vs positive threads especially)?
  15. It actually is his first rodeo at AAA.....but that is besides the point
  16. I don't care what the exact pecking order is, I know for a fact that one of Vargas, Pinto or Arcia would instantly be an upgrade today over Escobar at DH. The Twins whether they like it or not are in a playoff/divisional race, they need to be doing everything they can at the major league level to keep winning games.
  17. That sad thing is, he would be a better option then Escobar at DH
  18. What about the 12 major league games prior to him being sent down where he posted a .366/.395/.561 line? More than that? How about the 54 games last year in the majors where he posted a .778 OPS as a rookie? More? Add in his 97 games in AA last year where he posted a .832 OPS If the Twins had a masher in at DH currently, or hell, even a guy who could sniff a .720 OPS in the DH spot I can understand keeping Vargas down a bit, but we have a guy, who has a .588 OPS, and a career 81 OPS+ Util Player (who doesn't bring any speed to the table as well) currently occupying that DH spot. It's just mind boggling.
  19. They have pretty much given up the last month at the DH spot, putting a guy who is a career 81 OPS+ int he designated HITTER slot is the definition of basically shrugging your shoulders and tossing him in there. If you want to keep Arcia/Vargas/Pinto in AAA purgatory you could at the very least sign a AAAA masher and slot him in for a few weeks.
  20. So Vargas has a .333/.395/.615....that isn't forcing his way back onto the roster? Huh? I guess the cut off for "forcing your way back onto the roster" must only be having an OPS of 1.110 or above. Escobar has a .588 OPS, that is nightmare to have him in the DH spot more often then not. (Even Juan Castro had a higher OPS then .588) In re: to 13 pitchers, there is literally ZERO reason why 13 pitchers should be on this 25 man squad for this long.
  21. I already spoke with old lady twins fan or whatever the heck she likes to calls herself now, it's all good. This "thread" was posted in jest anyways to just give her a friendly hard time. The original deleted thread was posted in jest as well to let me beat two dead horses at once: the meta anti negativity thread takeover of 2015 and the Tim Stauffers distasteful Sasuage joke.
