  1. Escobar sucks. Dude has no business being a starting anything.
  2. With all that said I stil have faith, but is gonna take a few guys stepping up big time on the current roster and potentially one or two call ups to step up big as well. My guesses/hopes would be: Mauer, Hughes, May, Hunter, berrios, Graham and Jepsen.
  3. nobody was suggesting the twins go all in. Most were suggesting doing Something beyond just overpaying for Jepsen though. At least pretend like you give a **** that you are currently leading the WC spot and just don't ignore the bullpen more or less and SS/C.
  4. More incompetence by TR, gotta make sure we have 8 RP and a short bench again! God forbid they actually cut one of the bullpen guys.
  5. With the Twins 2 games up in the wild card, but teams closing fast, these next 16 games are extremely important for the Twins to stay ahead of the pack in the Wild Card race. The next 16 feature very winnable games and 4 against the Blue Jays who most likely will be the Twins toughest competition for the 2nd wild card spot. Let's take a look at the schedule: 3 more at home vs Seattle 4 at Toronto 3 at Cleveland 3 home vs Texas 3 home vs Cleveland. I predict the following: Twins win 2 of next 3 vs Seattle. Twins split vs Toronto 2 of 3 at Cleveland 2 of 3 vs Texsa 3 game sweep of Cleveland. That would give them an 11-5 record which I admidt is pretty freaking optimistic. I think 10-6 is the goal, and anything less than 9-7 would be a pretty massive disappointment, especially if they lose 3 or 4 against Toronto. The schedule gets tougher torwards the middle and end of the month with 3 at NYY (1st place AL East), 4 at Baltimore (2 games behind Minnesota), 3 at TB (with Hu on the mound), then three at home vs Houston. Predictions?
  6. Going to be another high scoring game: my guess is Twins 12 Mariners 7. Sano HR Mauer 3 for 4 2 doubles, 3 RBI Dozier HR hicks 2 for 5 2 runs Cruz HR Gutierrez HR Zunino HR
  7. The only bigger loser than the twins this deadline was the Padres. Terry Ryan completely blew it. The twins are more or less toast unless someone from the minors comes up and pitches lights out in the pen. Too bad, it could have been a real fun and magical season. Fire Ryan the day the season ends.
  8. Pitched pretty well in his AAA start
  9. he should be run out of town for not fixing the pen earlier, and once again refusing to bring in any player who will substainally improve the team.
  10. Explain why you aren't high on Hu? Explain how his great numbers this far are just a mirage. I will hang up and listen.
  11. So he is a ROOGY? Certainly doesn't help us in the 8th inning role.
  12. And one could easily make the case that Jepsen by far is the worst RP traded this deadline.
  13. Ah yes the old "a lot of prospects fail" argument. A+ execution.
  14. What's his FIP this year? Not fair to cherry pick his FIP in 2013/2014 and not include 2015!
  15. What if people are thinking perhaps he was the next Scott baker? Which is a very reasonable comp.
  16. here is another great stat: 1.528 WHIP in 2013. 40% IR scored.
  17. just as sound as your whole "well Hu isn't one of our best 5 pitching prospects so who cares LOL"
  18. He was overused in 2014 by the Angels, his arm is shot now (fastball is down) In 2013 he had a 4.50 era, that's pretty good? Keep grasping at those straws bud.
  19. great logic Brock, using that we could make the argument for trading Buxton for Bruce. "Hey let's revisit this once Buxton does something in the Majors!"
  20. What are you talking about? Hu hasn't pitched one inning in AA, he pitched one game in AAA and gave up 2 hits and one run in 6 innings.
  21. When Hu slots in as a cheap #3/#4 for the Rays in 2017 will you still be saying it's getting upset over nothing Brock?
  22. 2.31 career ERA, 8.3 k/9 2.1 bb/9 1.018 WHIP, 0.2 HR/9, 200 IP He may not be Berrios, but guys with results like that don't grow on trees.
  23. Pictured: Terry Ryan after trading two young project-able pitching prospects for KJep. http://rack.1.mshcdn.com/media/ZgkyMDEzLzEyLzE4L2E4L3JhbHBod2lnZ3VtLmU2MDI4LnBuZwpwCXRodW1iCTg1MHg4NTA-CmUJanBn/78887d35/8e8/ralph-wiggum-sweaty-gif.jpg
