  1. I'm just hoping that FG miss builds "character" personally, and allowed the Vikes a draft pick that wasn't too low to draft the answer at WR. SKOOLLLL
  2. I don't see anyone actually "defending" Molitor a whole lot. The one constant in these last several seasons without making the playoffs isn't Jepsen, Molitor, or anyone else in the bullpen or lineup. It's Ryan.
  3. So who's fault is it? If TR was a freshman GM for the Twins I would sort of understand your stance, but the dude has been driving the ship for a half decade now (and over a decade prior with no real results) At what point do people stop giving TR the benefit of the doubt and realize that maybe, just perhaps he is the reason why this club hasn't sniffed a world series in 25+ years.
  4. NTM The Twins are now crappy again, for the 4th year in the 5 years since TR has been back. I get Pseudo's argument that a couple signings wouldn't have taken the Twins from the worst team in the AL to the best, but at what point does TR actually get the blame? It has been his club (again) for 5 seasons now, 4 have been pathetic/terrible/embarrassing, one has been "meh" ok, but still not a playoff appearance. During this 5 year stretch the Twins (and TR) have the worst record in all of baseball, when are we able actually to blame him for it, and suggest that maybe the Twins would be better off with a new GM?
  5. Nunez, Duffey, Nolasco, Abad, Tonkin, May, Berrios, would all like to have a word.
  6. Well ****, the Penguins won. GRRRRRR. NFL season can't come soon enough now.
  7. Preaching to the choir man, preaching to the choir. Though, I still think May should be in the rotation. At this point, I basically want the Twins to either go on fire, and somehow win 90 games then win it all, or go down in flames, lose 100+ and force the Pohlads to fire Ryan, Molitor and the rest. Looks like the latter is much more likely at this stage unfortunately.
  8. Normally I would agree, but its a tie game in the 9th inning, with this offense struggling to score at most times this season, who are you going to toss in at that point? May was already spent. For better or worse Jepsen is our 2nd or 3rd best RP overall, I don't mind keeping him in at that point. I do blame Ryan however for having a team where Jepsen is our 2nd best option.....
  9. This isn't a "blown" game though, and to be fair to Jepsen, he never should have been or should be counted on to be a teams closer/shut down type guy. In reality he is a solid 7th inning type, or very awesome 6th inning type. (Not a knock on him by any means, just the reality)
  10. Pics or it didn't/doesn't happen.
  11. You guys should all REALLY turn on this hockey game. We all know how this Twins game ends.
  12. This might be the most underrated and most under appreciated post in Twins Daily history. But I LOVE it.
  13. Good luck on that! My buddy owns a Boston bar here in NYC, back when the Bruins won the cup they were able to "book" The Cup and some of the players to show up for a night at the bar, what is insane is they send along two security folks from the NHL at all times to escort said Stanley cup to to make sure no crazy hi-jinx occur, and they "retire" the cup rather early in the night (I think it was 10pm, but I can't recall exactly) I really, really wanted to drink some sort of alcohol out of the cup, but sadly the rules prevent that, along with non players holding the cup over their head and a whole list of other rules. I need to dig up those pics though, it was still fun to be in the presence of, and get a couple pics with something so historic.
  14. Good point, but as old man Carl showed, if people stop showing up somewhat to watch a crappy product, he will just try to sell the franchise to the lowest bidder! At least showing up to the ballpark helps keep the Twins in Minnesota (in a small way)
  15. I prefer the Red Wings logo myself, but to each their own. IMO the Whalers have the best logo of all time, ever. Along with the best goal song, all time, ever.
  16. I hate hate hate the Blues, but I hate hate hate hate the Stars. I have respect for San Jose though, I sat next to one of their D men a few years ago at a wedding, he was cool and his "date" was a solid Blonde "10" who actually had a very jealous (looking back, probably for good reason) boyfriend back in LA at the time. Also the Sharks choke just like Minnesota teams, so they know/feel/understand our pain. Capital fans are real scumbags, but Ovi deserves his cup. Pittsburgh has enough cups, and frankly who cares about Nashville or Tampa freaking Bay, neither city should have an NHL team!
  17. At this point, I am rooting for the Caps to win it all, Ovi is an all time great player, all time great players deserve at least one championship. Might as well happen in a year where I could literally care less about every other team left. (SJ winning wouldn't be too bad either IMO)
  18. 3-3 Caps, still with 1 minute left on power play.
  19. In games that actually probably matter: Capitals have come back from 3-0, it's 3-2 now and they have a 5-3 PP with 8 minutes left. Great game to watch.
  20. Berrios looked pretty decent overall tonight, the flashes are certainly there. Might take a year or two for him to "live" up to his potential, but thats ok when you are talking about a guy who is making his major league debut like 5 or 6 years quicker than Gibson and a lot of other SP do. The future is bright for him (if he can stay healthy) Gausmas looked solid as well, he is one of those guys I really wanted the Twins to make a run at last year/this offseason when the Orioles were a bit down on him and they could have gotten him for a decent price tag. Archie Bradley and Trevor Bauer are two similar pitchers I would look to acquire as well.
  21. Fair enough. Either way, we agree on the end result. Neither of us thought Milone made much sense to give a starting spot to out of spring training. Duffey was clearly a better option, May highly, highly likely was a better option as well.
  22. Just to pile on: In his last 20 games, Park has 6 BOMBS and a 1.027 OPS, the only team he should be hitting 6th (or lower) in the lineup for is the 1927 Yankees. Nunez+Dozier+Plouffe > Combs+Ruth+Gerhrig Never-mind. Carry on Paul, carry on.
  23. It just came to me! I have the perfect solution to our catching problems, it also will help our 1B/DH/3B issues as well! Joe Mauer To catcher???? Nope Sign Mark DeRosa!
  24. Haha, it's kind of a sad state of affairs when a 2% prognostication to make the playoffs is "Optimistic" how things change in 31 games (when pre season I would have put that number around 25-30%) I still believe it's possible, I doubled down on my stupid pre-season and tossed $100 last week in Vegas on the Twins to win it all at 125:1 odds. I mean, if they are a 2% shot to make a miracle run to make the playoffs (in my eyes) I guess what stops them then? For them to make a "legit" run at it though, Berrios and Duffey absolutely need to pitch like top of the rotation guys, and someone else likely is going to have to pitch out of their minds as well (i.e. Santana the last 5-6 weeks of 2015) Of course the biggest worry still is the bottom of the lineup and the bullpen, the lineup can fix itself if Rosario, Escobar and Buxton can all start hitting (I have zero hope for catcher at this point). But the bullpen....eesh, that is going to take a miracle. Or a healthy Perkins at the very least.
  25. I think with a guy like Milone it also depends on who you have pitching in front (and behind) of him when it comes to series etc with teams. Milone is hardly a "hard thrower" strike out type pitcher, for better or worse he is one of those pitch to contact types, now if you put him at the back end of the rotation of say...the Mets, who have a bunch of strike out pitchers at the front part of the rotation, it can and does make some sense as he switches things up a bit during his start and can see some success in a series. However in the Twins opening day rotation, Milone is basically more of the same, so basically any team facing the Twins are seeing three similar pitchers each and every time out (prior to Duffey and Berrios getting called up). Does that make sense at all? I think a lot of the reason why Big Sexy Bartolo Colon sees some nice success as a SP for the Mets is because he is pretty much the polar opposite of the other guys the Mets are tossing out in a given series.
