  1. the longer the Twins remain in 1st, the harder it is to trade Santana, etc. While most of us here probably fall on the side of trading ESan, ownership may think they owe fans a run At the playoffs
  2. He handled that high heater pretty well
  3. He showed us, at least for one day
  4. I stopped watching ESPN long ago, baseball might as well be soccer on the football365 network.
  5. I love Duffey in the pen. I didn't want Tonkin to start with, but I'd be OK with Breslow being DFA, then you could use either Vargas or Park.
  6. Can't imagine White Sox having Quintana and/or Robertson, and maybe Frazier or Abreu in 2nd half. Death of Ventura has crippled the Royals in my opinion. Detroit is just damn old. I am really excited to see if we can split with Cleveland at home this week.
  7. Boy, with Santana's relatively cheap contract and the way he is pitching since he came back last year, he could be the prize at the deadline, unless the Twins are still in it #ItsHappening
  8. Buxton is too valuable to send down, it's hard to even give him a day off with the defense he is playing. Sano is much more patient at the plate and he is getting his pitches to hit. The bullpen has been outstanding, but we won't have to keep 13 pitchers if the starters keep pitching this way, like to see how Hughes does in Detroit. Polanco has been pretty serviceable at SS to my novice eyes, plus we know he will hit. So we had Buxton, Kepler and Rosario at the bottoms of the order, that's a pretty good lineup. Another big week, we miss Verlander, so looking for a 4-2 week.
  9. Minor League Studs and Duds of the day Stud 3. Tommy Watkins (CR) getting his first win as a manager 2. Nick Gordon (Chatt). 3-4 including knocking in winning run, 2RBI on the day 1. Eduardo delRosario (CR). 6 IP 2H, 1BB and 7K picking up the dominant win for the Kernels Duds: 2. Dan Gamache (Chatt). Third basemen went 0-4 with 3K 1. Sam Clay (FTM). 2/3 IP, 6ER, 3H and 3BB. forgettable day for the form Yellowjacket pitcher
  10. My opening day edition of the minor league Studs and Duds of the day Stud 3. Edgar Corcino, 2 of the 3 Lookout hits on the night 2. Lachlan Wells. 3 k in 2 relief innings Minor League Stud of the Day: Kohl Stewart no ER in 6 innings to take the tough luck loss Dud 3. The weather 2. Collectively, the hitters, 0 runs in two games? C.mon! 1. Minor League Dud of the day...Dan Rohlfing, 0-3 with 3K
  11. Molitor' 25 man roster is set up for failure. Park certainly would have been batting cleanup if he was here. Let's string together a week or two of competent starting pitching so that we can make this 13 man staff look silly

  13. Glad my daughter and I won't see the 1st win on April 15 like last year Who needs 13 pitchers when you have starts like that. Hopefully Santiago can keep the ball in the park
  14. It's just like the beginning of Major League.... Hopefully it ends the same way
  15. 2 man bench. While the first ten days of the season don't mean much, we were out of the playoff race in two weeks last year. I agree with Dozier, expect the playoffs, which I do (although that probably means I need to have my head examined). I'd take competence to start the season
  16. I get the feeling from Reusse's comments that Molitor is not long for this job. The FO is setting the roster and overruling Molitor. In any event, I don't like some of the decisions made, but o will reserve judgment until May 1
  17. Ugh, why are we rolling with 30 somethings in the bullpen when we wont contend? Wimmers, shaggy and mejia should be on this team, but I'm guessing Duffey will be the 5th starter and we'll keep DanSan
  18. Yes, Tonkin throws hard, but he cannot get his breaking stuff over and they just sit on his fastball. He has had plenty of opportunities, no problem DFA. Danny Santana, John Ryan Murphy, Michael Tonkin, Buddy Boshers, plus move Perkins to the 60-day. There's five spots, adding Park, Gimenez and Wimmers gives you two left. Haley would just be blocking other guys, so I'd give him back also.
  19. I too was at the game and Mejia was dealing and it was the Cards regulars who were whiffing. In the past regime, no way he'd make the squad, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised. I think it's time we take our best pitchers to Minnesota and not wait for more seasoning. Saw three games this week and like what I see from Park also.
  20. Take a run at 3-4 pitchers and see if a couple work out like the Viola trade
  21. I don't think the Dodgers can afford to take on Sale with their mandate to get the debt ratio correct. That's why sending Puig with prospects would wash out the salaries then
