    I've never understood how on the modern era of medicine pitchers continue to be able to throw fewer and fewer innings and pitch counts continue to dwindle. My theory is that arms are babied entirely too much. Look at the twins who NEVER challenge pitch counts in the minor league, yet they continue to have a ton of guys needing TJ. It just baffles my mind.

    Pretty amazing that in one year o. The job TR has the farm system back on top and the big league club is at least competitive. A far cry from most of this board calling for him to be fired for signing our ACE Kevin Correia in the offseason!! LOL

    The Correa signing will turn out to be a good deal. He will win 24 games over two years. He will be Carl Pavano pre-2012. We paid Carl 7million per if I remember correctly? Nobody seemed to mind that deal? Tired of listening to people whine about a guy looonnnnggggg before we saw him pitch! Looked pretty good today against the Tigers!

    If Aaron Hicks wins the job it would be a travesty to send him to AAA. I get it if it were a toss up but it seems this kid has done everything he needed to do to win the position. If your thinking long term, having him in a good mental position going into the season with Great confidence is the way to go.

    He did whaaaaattttt? I don't care if he is facing High school pitching.....3 bombs in a game is amazing! Considering Joe Benson had a golden sombrero I'm guessing he is out of the CF contest?

    Keep them down for the first two weeks to gains a year. There is really not even an argument here. It just makes good business sense. The only way I see you bringing Hicks up to start the year is if he hits .600 with five bombs and 15 stolen bases in spring training. The guy has never played a AAA game!!

    I always find it funny when people bash someone for having an opinion that is different from there own. I applaud him for being honest, knowing full well he will get bashed for it. Calling him a racist or a bigot because he believes in the teachings of his childhood and the church is being guilty of the Same accusations you are placing on Hunter yourself. The fact is: it would be difficult and awkward to have a gay man in any locker room! BTW, don't try to compare this to racism, I haven't seen any gay people having there houses burned down and being hung from a tree in the front yard.

    I've noticed many casual fans calling this a disaster, I think these are very good moves that could turn great if May or Meyer turns into a front line guy down the road. Especially considering neither Span or Revere fit in past 2013. I'm hopeful we can sign an Edwin Jackson type to man the front of the rotation on maybe a 2-3 year deal. If not, I'm ok with picking up another arm at the deadline with Willingham or Morneau as trade bait!

    I could see us being a contender in 2013 but Im not counting on it. 2014 and 2015 I am actually counting on. Of course, things could and will go wrong but I see us building our farm system back to a point that things are very optimistic. No doubt Terry will continue to look for this years Ryan Doumit, Josh Willingham and the relief pitcher who slips my mind right now in free agency. I think we need another REALLY solid pitcher to make us a contender. Even though I hate to say this, Liriano on a one year deal isnt a horrible option. The guy can be a real #1 at times. If he has one of those years and gets confidence early you never know.

    PUMPED ABOUT THIS TRADE!! If Hicks isnt ready we can always use Bensons service time next year rather than waste Hicks. I imagine Hicks will win the job in Spring Training though. We now have pitching depth at AA and down!! 2014 we will be an up and coming team, 2015 look out! Terry Ryan is a Jedi!

    If Im Hicks or Arcia, Im pissed that I didnt get rewarded for an outstanding season. TR, call them up for nothing more than to spend time with some big leaguers buddy.

    If Delmon were a white man would you have the same complaint? quit being so sensitive.....this is a non-issue.

    Why is Morneau a DH? He is a very good defensive first baseman that has struggled when he did DH? People seem to forget before the concussions this guy was an iron man! If the concussions are behind him you can bet he will play 150 games a year!! He is by far the toughest guy in this team and the twins need his mentality in the clubhouse more so than Joe "no emotion" Mauer!

    I wish they would have traded Span just to get him out of CF! Revere tracks down so many more balls and Spans arm is so much better than Revere in RF! Now we're going to move a gold glove caliber talent in CF (Hicks) to LF for Span? I sure hope not!!

    Actually if you think about it Baker should be ready early.....maybe not super effective but he will be ready to pitch. Gibson had his surgery late last year and is already pitching in July!! Baker had his surgery in March or early Aprile so it is conceivable that he will be ready for the beginning of the season and no later than the middle of May. His effectiveness is a crapshoot based in previous pitchers who have had TJ. However, his work ethic is much stronger than a guy like Liriano so he may bounce back much faster.
