  1. Surprised they are giving Maeda the fifth.
  2. Maeda will probably be pulled at this point. 80 pitches and plenty of base runners.
  3. Hey, more hits than last time they faced this guy!
  4. Too many pitches out of the strike zone for MaeKen.
  5. Greedy--without the pickoff, it would have been a crooked number. Realistic--hey we got a run off a guy we've struggled to hit.
  6. Julien may have made the most outs on the bases since he's been called up.
  7. Cabrera's last AB against the Twins will not be a ten hopper up the middle turned into an out. He'll get four more chances to add to his totals.
  8. Day game after a night game. I think that is the reason Jorge is DH and Correa and Taylor are not in the lineup.
  9. Farmer is not signed for 2024. He will be in his final arbitration year. The Twins could non-tender him or trade him, if they choose. Farmer's situation will be quite similar to Gio's (this year) except that he'll be coming off a much less productive season.
  10. Agree on all points, but hope that Jax can work his way back into the Circle of Trust.
  11. While I agree that the '87 Twins and '23 Twins is not a good comparison and that lack of recent postseason success has soured many of us, I still think that good points were made. At the start of the season, no one was picking the Twins to win 100 games and not many were predicting much more than 85. They have overachieved in run suppression (pitching and defense) while underachieving offensively. Some players have taken a step forward, while several have not. That is the way baseball usually goes.
  12. I know Ohtani will be MVP, probably in a unanimous vote, but Corey Seager is having a monster year and would be an MVP candidate in another year. He's not on the batting average leaders because of injuries, but he's hitting .350 with a 1.076 OPS while playing a key defensive position. In fact, due to obscure rules about qualifying for batting titles, Seager would be the AL batting champion, if the season ended today. With a more than 20 point lead, he is a pretty sure bet unless he suffers another injury. Seager struggled early last year and has suffered injuries, but he's really at the top of his game. Maybe Correa will get it going in his second year of his contract.
  13. Really good play by Correa and probably only 5% of hitter/runners would have been out.
  14. Big league defense from Polanco. Seeing him running (tried to steal three times in Kepler's AB and then stole third a couple of innings later) and making good defensive plays bodes well for the rest of the season.
  15. Strike three to Taylor was about the same distance out of the zone as strike three to Bohm in Philly.
  16. Now hold the lead!! BP has been a bit leaky lately.
  17. Kep and the Kid with key hits. Now the middle of the order needs to get a couple more.
  18. The ump's strike zone has been very consistent. He's been better than most veteran umps.
  19. Didn't Andrus get his 2000th hit in a game against the Twins earlier this year?
  20. Time for a little revenge against the Motor City Kitties. They have hit the Twins surprisingly well and pitched well against them (a lot of teams have done that).
