  1. Most of them probably think studies exist showing that avoiding outs is one of the most highly correlated stats to scoring runs.
  2. But think of all the prospects he would bring in return, ready in 2022 or so... / yes I jest
  3. Kintzler showed good reflexes in *not* going after that comebacker. It got to Dozier quicker that way.
  4. Hell of a take by the batter.
  5. Curveball looking! Always a pleasure to watch (against the other team).
  6. We have one. Name's Eddie Rosario. What we badly need is a better starter in left field.
  7. Unless O'Day throws Giminez something different, Giminez might as well not bother even bringing a bat to the plate.
  8. Math prodigy there. / Seriously. Comfort with goofing around with numbers is a good sign. Check into the early-admissions programs at top engineering schools.
  9. Really slick DP started by Escobar at third.
  10. We're still talking about Kennys, right?
  11. This makes it sound as though every prospect fails due to one cause or other. Agreed, that the pundits ought to be doing a more careful job of explaining what is meant by risk. But I don't want to have to read a treatise in every prospect evaluation. What better term would you advocate than "safe"? Would "relatively safe" do the job?
  12. An infielder going deep to his right has no chance at getting Kennys. / edit - ninja'd
  13. Schoop had no purpose in making that throw on Buxton.
  14. 3) They probably get that a lot.
  15. Polanco - what can't this man do?
  16. Tuned in late, Tillman really missing his spots.
  17. ... at which point we label the guys at one end of the spectrum as "safe" and those at the other end "risky", simply for brevity.
  18. Movies: Guardians of the Galaxy - as previously discussed. Bands: Genesis - bombastic, I never could get into them. TV: most episodic TV, but I'll single out Gray's Anatomy - I hope they weren't shouting at or flirting with each other, or especially stopping to give a speech, in the surgery room when I had my gall bladder out. My wife probably thinks I can't hold my tongue when she's watching it, but I blurt out probably only 5% of what I'm thinking when it's on. Some episodes I manage to get through entirely silently, anymore. I just don't get what itch that show scratches.
  19. One day my boss came into my cubicle and told me I was fired. My co-workers all held a going-away party for me. Months later, I found out it was just a prank, but by then I was well into a new career, so I told them all to go fornicate themselves. Had a company reunion a year ago, and we all had a good laugh about it.
