  1. Cora in his post-game press conference confirms some things posted here: he thought that fly ball was out of the park, and he next thought it was a good send at third base, and he thought Rosario made a great play involving both hustle and a throw.
  2. Duensing as a sweetener?
  3. Disappointment, like any prime athlete. But I think I send him too, if I'm the 3B coach - two outs, fast runner, perfect throw needed - might be the better chance.
  4. You can't score if you don't even touch the plate. I think there's something to that effect in the Official Rules.
  5. Eddie Rosario: "He can beat you even when he goes 0 for 4."
  6. I have my doubts. There was nothing wrong with the defense that time.
  7. Cron with the wheels, to grab that little flare.
  8. It's rare I question any major leaguer's dedication. The injury he got takes time to recover. Fortunately in September we have others to step in.
  9. Fast inning for the Sawx.
  10. Not to mention, he's got Kepler to back him up, if the dive fails. That's the nature of a potential gapper. It's not do or die. Just, do, or not. I'm less enthused about his judgement on sinking liners in front of him, which I don't need to belabor again. But, fine catch. Very fine catch.
  11. We've used fewer pitchers than Boston has.
  12. Red Sox announcers raving about Minnesota's defense. Though, Jerry Remy did tap the brakes a little.
  13. Wow, May's location against Martinez was amazing.
  14. With that facial hair, Barnes looks remarkably like David Price.
  15. Willians is a good guy to have up there when the pitcher has to throw strikes.
  16. That was the style, once upon a time. LA Coliseum: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/MemorialColiseum.gif Polo Grounds:
  17. Yeah, the Pawtucket Red Sox own the territorial rights beyond the right field line. The parent club doesn't want one of their guys winning a game in the International League by mistake.
  18. Trying for a third out, if I'm piecing together the evidence correctly.
  19. The ball hit the fair pole for a home run. In a more normally configured park, that pole would be many feet further, and the ball would have curved harmlessly foul. I didn't think anyone was saying it would be fair in another park. Cheap home run, we were saying.
  20. Not a good look, with that failed pick off throw to second.
  21. Johnny Pesky was a beloved Red Sox player, and later coach. They name things after people like that. Oh, and leave it to Betts to be the one hitting that double.
  22. That guy on the left appears to be losing in a rout.
