  1. It's also possible that RB was baiting me on that topic, since I've been posting that general opinion only, like, once a day or so for a month now. He's wily, that one. Like a Coyote.
  2. Mods: please suspend this user from game threads for 100 games. / i keed, i keed, my brother
  3. Too soon. Fair enough. Like I said, it was long, so I put it aside for later savoring, and missed everything past the middle of the seco
  4. I was preparing a longer version of it, set to the tune of Stairway to Heaven, in honor of its greatness. But not now, you beggar. Zackly. You are a perceptive fellow.
  5. It sounded overly sarcastic, but as I went on to say, it's actually tinged with admiration. He's figuring things out. Just like a lot of 23-year-olds in the majors for the first time have to do.
  6. If you are serious, I think the answer goes back to April 12. That is when he started getting that unGodly number of walks for a week. My guess, based on nothing, is he had a heart-to-heart with batting coach Bruno, realized the pitchers were playing him as a chump so he layed off the bad pitches, and after a week they started giving him a little bit in the strike zone to hit, and he's at least hitting like a rookie now instead of like me.
  7. How many bar bets have you lost this way?
  8. Hicksie! The man is on fire. Since April 21 his BA is .224.
  9. The ESPN pbp says "out stretching at second." This was something he should have done before the game. Fine his ass.
  10. I guess most of us are down with the idea that these game threads are kind of like sitting at the ballgame and shooting the breeze, but this post was more like the guy at the end of the aisle who is muttering about something and everyone else is afraid to ask exactly what. Good job, keep it up, and I'll read it after the game.
  11. Doumit leads off with five foul balls. Could be a big inning. / oh, and a homer
  12. Be careful about meeting your heroes, lest you be disappointed. I shook hands with Cecil Fielder and he was about the same height (but not weight) as Freddie Patek. I exaggerate, but not by that much.
  13. Take it easy on Glunn. Ever since he found the stash of photos of Olivia on teh internets, he's typing with one hand and can't communicate as fast.
  14. It's the umpire's fault. He needs to call out loudly, "not an infield fly, unless fair!".
  15. OK, show of hands, if Nostradamus himself had told you before the game, after two innings one pitcher would have 3 walks and the other just 1, would you have guessed Deduno would be the second one?
  16. I'm rubber, you're glue? We expect better of you, Chief.
  17. They apparently had different lunchboxes in Juvie.
  18. Let's phone Stew and get the official word on this call.
  19. Aaron is sniffing Dozier's butt and looking for a place to lie down there too.
  20. Doumit walks to lead off the inning. This should be big.
  21. Just in time. Rust makes the milk taste bad.
