  1. Plus then you'd have Gardy and Leyland goin' at it. Good times.
  2. Oh yeah? Whatchoo gonna do about it, bee-yot.... ch. Oh.
  3. You want our best Rally Avatar in the bottom of *their* ninth? I don't think you can intentionally jinx the other team. Trying that backfires, in my humble experience. Just have to ride it out. Open to ideas though.
  4. Yeah. That's a man's work, to strike out Miggy in the ninth.
  5. The plan was to not have these guys come to bat. Didn't we just go over that?
  6. Aside from that, it's an animation when sitting on my computer, it just sits there when I uploaded it. Oh well. In any case, I'm perfectly satisfied with Morneau's work tonight.
  7. Bark pretty well summed it up in my absence.
  8. Looking forward to Morneau's ninth inning.
  9. I see it. And with this guy, I just don't believe it. I feel the need to go to ever finer granularity in his record and find the thing about him that bugs me: he just seems to give up the big hit when it will cost the previous pitcher something. And, I know there are stats for that, and if I look them up it won't show anything. And normally I'm the last to argue in favor of elusive clutch stats for major leaguers. And, and, and... I am not sold on Roenicke. At all.
  10. Dozier was the only one in the inning to find one well enough to put into play.
  11. Not sold on Roenicke. At all. I don't actually care enough about him to study his body of work one plate appearance at a time. But my hypothesis is he builds up a good WHIP and other stats in inconsequential situations. Which, I suspect, most studies show isn't the case for 99% of pitchers. But I still suspect, and dread.
  12. I'm glad someone has a theory for a purpose.
  13. That's what the other manager is for.
  14. Shame plays some role in something, I guess. I still haven't explained TD to my wife, for instance.
  15. Didn't measure up to his normal standards.
  16. Zero. Study after study has proven that the sac bunt is the best play in baseball, increasing run expectancy by about 2 every time it is called.
  17. Now Florimon's just piling on.
  18. My fine wha-a-a-at?
  19. Five runs. Should be enough for Pelf. Question is whether to let him start the ninth.

  21. Everything is always cooler when done with a cigarette drooping from your lips.
  22. Dragging tired old discussions in from other threads will be fined 5 cents toward the post-season party.
  23. In fairness' date=' she will probably age gracefully. To something like this:
  24. Give Trevor a dog biscuit, he can come out now.
