  1. Graduate Student Emeritus, more like.
  2. That's Electric Light Orchestra, not the Boss.
  3. Not to divert from the thread-topic or anything, but: Welcome!
  4. Unlike other roster moves, I don't think you have to open up a spot days in advance for these FA.
  5. There could be a waiver claim in the works. I *think* it's necessary to have an open spot when you make the waiver claim, not just wait and open up the spot if the claim goes through; that would explain the timing. The wait is due to there being the potential of another team ranking "higher" (in reverse order of standings last October) putting in a claim before the time is up.
  6. This list from sometime TD contributor Stew Thornley contains coaches and managers as well. http://milkeespress.com/twinsnumbers.html
  7. Didn't care much for the trade when it happened last year, like it even less now. This outcome leave me to wonder who is backup CF?
  8. With a slo-pitch Short Center Fielder to handle what would otherwise fall in.
  9. Because it's complimentary I am going to give in to the temptation to leave the post intact and not infract you for it. BUT, the discussion of moderation STILL belongs elsewhere.
  10. For me it's probably the sense of "belonging" to something much greater than myself.
  11. The umpire will still make the pitcher bat. Even if FedEx gets your other guy from Rochester to the ballpark by the 5th inning.
  12. In thread. After thread. After thread. Twins make a roster move. Time to launch a retrospective on the Twins front office.
  13. How many of us identified this #4 without some searching? / not me, for one. Though teh Googlez came through once again for me
  14. Can't even begin to imagine what your definition of a "prospect" is, if you're ready to erase from your radar someone who had an above average OPS while a year younger than the average of his peers in single-A. Of course he has to make progress - that's the nature of a 21-year-old prospect, he still could fail. You're ready to say he *has* failed?
  15. OK, gotta run now, will have to miss the rest of this slugfest.
  16. It's a game thread. Best explanation for this wins the Internets today. Here's mine: He just wants to get the bitter taste out of his mouth from watching Worley too much, and see some live arms.
  17. It's hard to be optimistic, but I do think we need to give him a lot of time before giving up on him.
  18. Teh Googlez. / seriously, just "Roy Smalley" after clicking "Images". Splendid luck.
  19. How about at the start of 2014? Because that's when the decision had to be made. Hanging on to someone because he might excel a scrubini in July isn't a reason to keep him.
  20. Only 4 innings for Nolasco, in his final tuneup. Is that a bit short? I guess we should expect no more than 6 next Monday.
  21. They started out 66-90, but then slumped the rest of the season.
  22. One hit for each side after four. This may be how good games go this year.
  23. Wasted here. Bring this to the "Will this team be the worst of the last four years?" thread and cheer everybody right up.
