  1. Yes, because the one thing that can defeat King Felix is ignorance of what he brings when he comes to work.
  2. OK, gotta run. Going out to dinner with my sweetie.... / hope Mrs Ashbury doesn't find out
  3. The fundamental flaw in the Garza trade.
  4. Next week... on a very special episode of As The Twins Turn... the team travels to San Francisco and one of the players has a difficult admission to make...
  5. IT'S RIGHT THERE IN PLAIN SIGHT. / edit - and this is a further hint for whoever may not have caught on yet
  6. Left and center fielders agree: Dozier >> Mauer
  7. Yes, but that is part of the job description in the want ads I see on Craig's List for "First Baseman". I'd like to think Mauer will take about 300 practice short-hops thrown by the bat boy three hours before tomorrow's game, of his own accord. "Hey Trevor. Grab a lawn chair, and watch. I owe you."
  8. I'm plenty tired of second-tier anything. And two of them doesn't double the value - well 2x0=0. I would like to see us on the "one" end of a two-for-one trade. Liriano, Morneau, someone else I'm forgetting* at the moment... How about Suzuki plus one of our out-of-options scrubs for a genuine prospect, for once? *No, not Revere - IMO that was an attempt at two major league contributors, only hindsight will change that
  9. Morneau would have scooped that one.
  10. I hope TD readers appreciate what a wordsmith we have in sampleSize.
  11. Is he? I genuinely don't know, relative to other major league managers. My impression is that he doesn't go out of his way to rip players, but he's pretty willing to do so in the apparent name of providing a balanced view.
  12. Hicks with the winner - who called that?
  13. Fundamental scouting and coaching >> my ability to look at stat lines
  14. The truck carrying the hi-test blend doesn't deliver to his station anymore?
  15. Too bad they didn't give Hughes another inning. That way they could have saved Burton for the ninth.
  16. Only a tater tot this time.
  17. Mixed with games where he's been lights out. Dunno what to make of that except that it's a game played by humans?
  18. I was planning to say, even if Perk closed it out, that the offense needs to be getting more than 3 runs if they want to consistently win. Looks like they'll now be called on to do just that, after all, or lose.
  19. Get back in line with the rest of us here.
  20. Fundamental scouting and coaching >> my ability to look at stat lines
