  1. Chief's punch line contest doesn't seem to have gained traction today. Too bad, it seemed like a good one. How about a fill in the blank contest, instead?
  2. That could indeed be a fair description of the symptom.
  3. My browser history will stand up to scrutiny. How many fellow TDers can make that same bluff?
  4. Yeah, by the third one my browser finally caught up. Running the game at the same time as I do Google searches seems to be more than this laptop can manage.

  6. Chief's ultra-helpful flippancy aside do you mean the photos some users have for their accounts? (E.g. my Haight-Ashbury street sign?) You can do that yourself if you want. Locate some suitable picture you like, for instance via a Google image search.Mouse-click the URL of the picture (usually has JPG or GIF as the file extension) to copy, to paste later. (Or, you can plan to just type the lengthy URL by hand when the time comes.)Then in another window go to your TD "My Settings" page by clicking on your username near the top of most TD pages. Near the top of General Settings you should see "Change my photo...". Click that.Enter the URL from above into the form. Click Done.Check any page where you have posted, to see how it looks.Admire.Wait to hear murmurs of admiration from others. (And keep waiting, and waiting...)
  7. Yeah, guilty of indecision. So I went back and put up both. "This. Could. Be. Epic."
  8. He apparently said enough that finally crossed a line. Arguing balls and strikes probably - at some point the umpire says that's enough, it's not arguable, and one more word triggers the thumb. That in turn allows the manager to turn back and really tell the ump what he thinks, before he departs for good. Dickbert said the ump is a call-up from the minors. I suppose some managers want to try to test him, and/or bend his will to some purpose.
  9. Oh. You'll see that I went with a different take.
  10. Q: What did Picasso say on his day off? A: Hm, I'm drawing a blank.
  11. Yay! Yay! Say, remind me again, why we are whispering?
  12. Surprise surprise surprise.
  13. Yep, Santana's not seizing the opportunity he's being given this season.
  14. Seth Smith still crowds the plate. I don't know why he doesn't lead the league in HBP. Oh wait, it's because he doesn't play for the Royals, boo hoo hoo for them.
  15. First pitch strike. Gibson's got this.
  16. If you bench a pitcher who allows that, what's your reward for the batter who accomplishes it? (Or do you really want to encourage guys getting two quick strikes on them?)
  17. CBU: 1-0 going into the bottom of the first inning.
  18. It's fun to stay at the Os-Wal-D-O, it's fun to stay at the Os-Wal-D-O... wait, no.
  19. Bad luck. What can the Twins possibly offer to exploit it?
  20. Felix took a rather hard-luck loss tonight, 2-1, despite giving up only 4 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings, notching 5 strikeouts. He did hit one batter, and that was instrumental in the run-scoring fourth inning. The Kernels' bats just weren't going, and couldn't pick him up this time.
  21. And they rrrrrroll their tongues just to show off.
  22. It's OK, Cicely Strong didn't have much in the way of punchlines tonight either, and she still got applause. No, not really a punch line per se, just the whole series of posts was predicated on the observation you made.
