    There's no question in my mind that he's good at that particular play - it's what gives hope he can become a good fielder. I wish he showed more consistency on the plays involving hot smashes, popups, and so forth; on some of those I swear he seems to shy away from the ball.

    I don't think such sequence is terribly unusual. If bunting is part of your game, you don't want the defense ever to feel too comfortable. And bunting doesn't only occur in cases where the batter's plan is solely "I'm bunting this time up".
