  1. or test him again!!!Idiot now has to put up with people thinking that bout him the rest of his career.
  2. Last 4gms Miguel 0-17 w/10Ks ouch.
  3. Started for GCL today. .2IP 4h 3er bb wp Real story isnt how he performed but how he feels tomorrow
  4. This is why you dont really know about a player till he gets to A ball.
  5. I certainly like the use of numbers to back up a take....well done....but numbers work better over a longer sample size. If the Drew-toids want to impress me/others, have him catch Blackburn & turn him into a serviceable pitcher.....cant be done
  6. Why its not correct to compare our jobs getting transferred to baseball is players only play 6/7month seasons....they still go home for 5months & dont work....do workout but its not work.
  7. Problem is that Drew is entrenched as Gardy's backup C no matter what he hits. Some will say as long as he hits .200 with OPS of .600, but its already proven that Gardy will keep him with a .450OPS. He doesnt care since its his guy. Drew doesnt need to answer to anyone about his play.
  8. Ugly weekend of 0-13 w/6K. Comes after hitting great since ASG --22gms--21/68 .309/.453/.618 w/15runs 4doubles 1triple 5hr 19rbi 19k 18bb
  9. No question the 27 yr old hasnt handled his MLB shots well yet..... 17gms 9 starts in AAA with 2.29 ERA overall in 63 innings (2.20 as starter in 45innings)with 42K 23bb & .254BAA Anyone like to give him one more starter shot (after Frankies gone ???) or lose him next spring to options (he is out next spring) & have him be some other organizations version of Sam Deduno or PJ Walters
  10. Anyone else following Dave surprised that 3 days after pitching a 6inning shutout....they had him go 1.2IP out of pen today??? Been bumping him back/forth since his return. Are they stretching him out for starter spot or pen??
  11. Think you guys are severly underestimating Clet Thomas, who has a .513slgg since June 1!!! Cmon teams need these guys....no reason to promote your own guys!!!
  12. Drew is part of the country club atmosphere here.....scholarship program as TRyan put it.After Frankie is gone, he either succeeds with another C or he doesnt & Drew is the answer. Think of the amount of talent we can get if we deal Drew to the team Frankie signs with!!!! Of course, by then, Drew will have turned Sam Deduno into the next version of Dave Stewart & we can get a boatload for him!!! Drew never stops givin
  13. 2012 11th round pick has raised some eyebrows with his solid appearances @ ELIZ. The 21 yr old lefty, out of U of Kentucky, from Denver COL has made 6 starts 2W 1L 30IP 20h .187BAA 1.80 ERA 39k 5bb.....looks fantanstic. Surprisingly his collegiate stats werent so good This yr, 14gm 13 st 3w 7L 77IP 97h 5.14ERA 49k 19bb Last yr, 14gm all st 4w 7L 83IP 108h 6.4ERA 39k 15bb So 2yrs with 160IP 205h 5.79ERA 88k 34bb Goes from being a very hittable, low strikeout guy to a dominating looking strikeout pitcher in a notorious hitters lg. Cant be all wood bats vs aluminum, but its kind of interesting.
  14. He's still ahead of previous #1 draft signings. Got 6 wks left after rehabbin the shoulder. Previous deadline only left players with 3wks....not enough time for anything of note for pitchers.
  15. If he's gonna go to a bad team, he can go to his homestate Astros before returning home. While he may admit money isnt the issue, its always an issue with Torii.....esp if he'd come back here, he'd wanna get paid
  16. So trade nobody & stay status quo/lose Liriano after the season for nothing???I could be talked into taking the draft pick for Frankie if they prospects offerred arent high enough. Benson, Arcia, Hicks......DONT LIST THOMAS PLEASE....are very very close. Right now, maybe not...but nxt yr, sure. Denard is an ok player, dime a dozen type tho. Decent average, OBP, poor base stealer/baserunner...good CF but not better than Revere who's a better clone of Denard.....alwasys run into possibility of hurting Spans feelings also. Does all depend on who's offerred tho
  17. Personally, I hope MN keeps its teams out east. The inflated #s of players out west makes it VERY difficult to judge players. At least the players out east play on a somewhat even ground with geography not a part of the stats. Remember some of our numbers in Edmonton & Salt Lake??
  18. 22 on Aug 1, first base & nondrafted FA out of Puerto Rico.
  19. I understand that, when its needed. We signed Matt Carson or Wilkin Ramirez because we planned on lettin Dustin Martin/Brandon Roberts types go. If they are done playing thats one thing but I prefer to stay with your own developed guys if they are equal. I woulda preferred to keep Yangervis Solarte to AAA rather than sign Sean Burroughs. I would rather see Steve Hirshfield/Dave Bromberg gets shots in ROC than go get the Luke French/Matt Maloney/Jeff Gray's. Last yr, I woulda prefered keeping Brock Peterson to signin Aaron Bates....that type of signing I dislike. We have been signing the AAA vets to get shots over our own guys. Now that may a indictment of our own guys but I prefer to have your own guys get a shot. After that, I understand you have to fill holes....but after that!!! Just my preference
  20. Just keep him away from Derek Rodriguez....dont want him around anyone with connections to the 'bad stuff'. Nice debut tho
  21. Torii has already stated that he's not interested in the Twins....but will deny it after saying it.
  22. How many times have we won back to back games rendering Burton unusable??? Im not saying he should be in 3 straight games, but NEVER?? Its cost em wins...which I thought were the goal. Burton & Perk have been unable to pitch due to overuse in a year when we are one of the worst teams in baseball. He's using these guys when behind & then rendering them out in a possible win. But again, when Gardy does it & wins...he's awesome, when he does & loses, its the players. He cant do any wrong with some.
  23. My arguement, no way of knowing, is that if Drew were to be DFA....would a single team claim him? NO...& if they did, it would be to be a AAA C. He does not belong in the majors. Of course, its Drew is magic & there isnt a better defensive C in baseball right now....how cant we see how lucky we are???
  24. Team has been better with getaway lineups for sure.....more due to 3 person bench's than due to change of philosiphy from Gardy. As for Span & his stress, I lost repsect for him when earlier this year Gardy spoke of how 'devastated' Denard would be if he had to move to RF for Revere. The guy is mentally soft (not due to consussions either)
  25. obviously they TRY to win every gm, but the decision to NOT use Jaret Burton on 3 consucutive days (when leading in late innings) is an example of how they dont use everything they have to win every day....hope to win, but resting Jaret is more important than winning....that particular day. Twins often consider resting someone 'more important IMO' to winning (obviously they try to win tho). They havent done it last 2 yrs due to injuries, but the day game B squad out there in the series finale is another example. Trevor not playing today (when theyve said he COULD) to rest an injury 1 more day (tho this is farther down my list). That's what Im talkin bout.
