  2. Whoa, whoa, whoa, what did Chris Colabello ever do to you?
  3. "God it' so painful when something that's so close, Is still so far out of reach" Yep, that's all of them
  4. Bubba or Couples (sentimental fav)
  5. I don't like you anymore.
  6. "There's only one Phillipe Coutino, one Phillipe Coutino"!! Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpoooool!!!!! Liverpool 3- Man City 2!!! Skrtel is a beast.
  7. I'd love to see him hit in the 2 spot, although I have no issue with Mauer as a #2, I'm just not sure if Dozier is a better bet than Joe at 3. If Hicks can keep progressing he might actually be able to handle that lead off spot before long, I think he's shown much more plate discipline so far. Then Dozier can effectively move down the order.
  8. Don't forget TD members get a discount from Ticket King. See the Ticket King thread in the Minnesota Twins Talk forum for how to redeem the voucher. Go to Matt's Book downtown through Priceline ( countless decent hotels) Do Fultons Have a Kramarchuks sausage at the game.
  9. So you're saying Anderson gets credit?
  10. 7 pitch at bat while looking at the first 3, I think he's listening to who knows best........him!
  11. Personally I think Joe should have swung at that first pitch, it being a strike and all........
  12. Surely you mean Jacque-esque!
  13. I'd like to see the kicking over tables and lighting things on fire to win correlation data...........does anybody have that handy?
  14. Riot in Dinkytown?!?!.......just leave Pagoda well enough alone!
  15. Maybe so, personally I think the Blues like to play with a lot of speed, it sets up their cycle game which is where their size takes over. I saw them play in Winnipeg twice this season and the Jets really tried to slow them down, and the Jets are a pretty fast team. When they couldn't establish the forecheck it didn't matter how big they were. You know the Wild better than I do so you're probably right but I think they have a chance if they play the right way. The playoffs are funny sometime, big expectations for the Blues and they are not finishing on a high note. The Wild win over them the other night is a good example of what can happen in the first round. The Blues have to be shaking their heads at how they lost that game.
  16. Can be a problem but doesn't have to be, the Wild have some decent size, maybe a little small on the back end. They just need to control the neutral one and not let the Blues forwards get the puck deep and attack with speed, which I think the Wild do well. That can be effective against size as well as speed. If the D is given a second or two more to move the puck the size factor can be diminished.
  17. The Blues manhandled a lot of teams but the Jets played St.Loius to four 1 goal games with 2 SO and I think the Wild are defensively a better team than Winnipeg. If they can keep things tight and keep it close it just takes a good break to get the Blues doubting. Likely going to have to go through them at some point, the first round is a better time to throw everything at them. The biggest issue I see is.....................Bryzgalov?!?!.....Oh dear!
  18. Sure, but the zingers are being volleyed both ways, no use one side crying foul. I get what you're saying Chief and maybe I partly agree, would I love to see Mauer hit for more power? Sure, do I think he can do it by altering his approach at the plate? No. I think he would have to alter not only his approach but also his swing mechanics and I don't think that would would ultimately net better results than his current swing does, which on average is pretty impressive. The other thing is, I think people are hung up on the type of plate appearances that occurred the other day, yes it was a high leverage situation but to judge the approach I think is unfair to any player. How many times has Mauer decided he might try to alter the possible outcome of a game earlier by trying to yank a pitch only to turn it over for a GB to 2nd? It's really difficult to know that but I don't think you can discount it, as we all know the margin for error is pretty thin.
  19. Why would they do that? Minnesota will be much harder to play against in the playoffs than Phx or Dallas. The Wild are much more disciplined and tighter in their game.
  20. Nobody's burning anyone at the stake, are you being a bit dramatic? The thing I'm confused about is, what the criticism is exactly?. What's the flaw again? Not swinging at meatballs down the middle of the plate with 2 on and 2 out in the 9th inning of a 3 run game......in early April? I guess he needs to practice his clutchness more? This whole discussion for some seems to be centered on not only a single at bat but arguably a single pitch he decided not to swing at. It's not that I have an issue with being critical of Mauer, it's just that in this instance it seems pretty contrived and petty. To me second guessing which pitches a hitter as good as Mauer decides to swing at or not doesn't have a lot of credibility considering his overall body of work.
  21. Ok,but to what end? Ok, the first pitch could have possibly been hit, great thanks.
  22. So you're main beef is that he didn't go up first pitch swinging? Obviously his plan going up was to get a look at the first pitch, how do you second guess that? Obviously we would all be celebrating the greatness that is Joe Mauer if he had only swung his bat when we thought he should, hit or not, correct?
  23. What??? You can't be serious........ Can you?
