    Speaking of the Royals and misguided hopes of top prospect returns, a KC sports radio guy keeps throwing out the idea of trading Ervin Santana for Jurickson Profar. Says the Royals would "have to look into it." It's ridiculous to see some of the expectations surrounding potential trade chips. I won't believe any of the speculation until I see it. But, it is fun to talk about.

    Upon first glance, I thought someone had seen an ad calling out the Twins for "rolling over". That would've spiced up the metro.

    Probably so. I do often associate Goodrum with Jamaica and pirate ships, so I can understand the confusion.

    Goodrum is from Georgia. Second round pick. But, I agree with you. International Free Agency is huge for netting top prospects.

    I liked him resting until they came out and said he was resting indefinitely. Ugh. Fingers crossed.

    I live in KC. And, trust me, I can't talk about the Twins' elite prospects around here. Hoo boy.

    Cmb, I'm not going to condone tanking because losing sucks. But, if the Twins take a big slide in the standings in the second half, it will be easier to swallow come draft season of next year. Having said that, this will be the last year there's an opportunity to be top 8 in the draft. Intriguing and valid question.

    Anyone know if he's getting more swinging strikeouts? I don't exactly scour the game logs after his starts, but it'd be interesting to see if he's found something or just fooling minor leaguers.

    International free agency has been very good to the Twins. I want all of them.

    Amaurys Minier with a heck of a GCL debut: 2-4 with a double and 3-run HR. Not too bad for a 17-year-old. Excited about him.

    I thought one would fall too until the day of the draft, when the experts put out their mocks that represented what they were hearing. A tad disappointed. But, hey, being a Wolves fan prepared me for this.

    Actually concerend about Diamond. I hope it's a fatigue issue, but his low K/9 could indicate that he is a smoke and mirrors guy. Not an advanced stat guy, just worried. Wanting Gibson up somehow, for sure.

    I'm skeptical as well but, if his advisors have any brains, they'll look hard at the Twins' starting rotation and his competition. "You're better than him... him... him... Hey, maybe this might be a good idea" But, then again, maybe they are a little short sighted and want the biggest bonus. Never happens, right?

    Ben Badler at BA just posted some tidbits about July 2 and the buzz surrounding some of the prospects. But, it's behind the money wall. Is anyone a member or read anything lately?
