Too much technology changes the game into a different sport for the venues that will never be able to afford the technology. How are high schools going to incorporate this into their baseball....they can't....or more importantly, shouldn't spend the money on it. But...I suppose they said something like that about Personal Computers back in the 1970s.

If Eddie can get the Twins some great starting pitching or maybe a reliever we just have to have....or a prospect they know is a can't miss....fine, then trade Eddie. But the Twins have far more important problems to solve. I believe everyone can live with a LF who bats clean-up...that has a few lapses in the outfield. That used to be the definition of a Left Fielder. A team can't live with a first baseman who can't dig out a throw. I've see better first baseman on softball fields. A team can't live with an infield that is collectively below average defensively. They all hit....so keep all of them, or what you can....but grab a defensive star up the middle. But most of all. A team can't beat anyone in the playoffs without veteran, reliable, proven, and effectively rested relievers.....and most certainly not without veteran stars as starters. Hard to get, I understand. But look what beat us and look what won it. That is what you shoot for. -
Good plan Mr. Mathew Trueblood [author of this article and the plan to move Sano to First Base]. Put this plan on a to-do list. Stick it to the fridge with a Twins Schedule magnet. But first: Re-sign Cron, and then teach him out to dig out errant throws. Congratulate Sano on being one of the best defensive players the Twins had versus the Yankees. Sign 2 "impactful" starters and 2 "impactful" relievers. Beat the f%$king Yankees.

Bob Costas didn't observe it this way....as we all heard. Twins hit a HR - Bob says, "homers are flying out of the park this year...it's ridiculous!". Yankees hit a HR - Bob says, "the Yankees answer in dramatic fashion!".

The goal should be to beat the Yankees. To beat them....you should probably act like them. What do they usually do?? They never get rid of people [don't know exactly why....guess because they always make good decisions]. They develop and groom and make people fit in. Then they add expensive free agents to make all those marginal types look good. So, keep everyone [including Gibson], and then sign the best available starter and the best available reliever.....and keep developing the players you have. I think Syndergaard would be a good start...........
