  1. 2nd place overall... And then you look at the top 5 and think to yourself. Hey... Those are pretty good players... Upton, Sano, Story, Lawrie and Stanton would make an interesting team.
  2. I wish Bautista would get pissed at that.
  3. Yeah... It's like building a Gazebo and nobody goes in it.
  4. Hapless Hapless Hapless Baby can you hear me now?
  5. That'll suck That would be like... calling the hump when you are about to get in the back seat with your family.
  6. http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Rock-n-Roll/ronnie_james_dio_switzerland.jpg
  7. I wonder if Pat Dean said "65" when asked what number he'd like and was forced to take 64 when he was told that 65 was taken. Or Maybe the Equipment Guy said "May has 65" and then Dean replied "OK... May I... have 65"
  8. I think Paul has been trying to push aggressiveness on the base paths... Unless of course... there is no reward for it... and you are swinging at everything at the plate... and missing cut offs and not aggressively taking charge on short flies behind the SS.
  9. It took a perfect throw... I'd be ok with that... I probably would have went for it as well... getting to third with one out would be worth it. Kind of like... sticking a bag of Peanut M&M's in the shopping cart when your wife is looking for the wheat thins. It sucks if you get caught but if you get away with it... you are possibly rewarded later.
  10. Nah... That would be like me bringing a bucket of pig's blood to the guy up in the rafters.
  11. We may not see it but it's probably been tossed out there a few times. If you fall off your bike in front of 25 people... chances are... one of the 25 people will say something snarky.
  12. I was told it was tortured metaphor day? If I'm the only practitioner... I'll feel like Will Ferrell running down the street in Old School.
  13. Yeah... I Got Sucked in to that. I honestly wish Pat Dean the best of luck and I hope today is the start of a long distinguished career. But... with all that depth... getting to the position of needing Dean to save us in May is a lot like needing me to sew someone's dress so they don't get laughed at while attending the prom.
  14. I want to like this but I really can't because of my firm Anti-War stance. But Yeah... War believer or not... We do end up arriving at the same location. It's kind of like you and I drove over a bridge and you fell out of my car and landed in the river and floated to the same rest area that I stopped at.
  15. The Cubs play them. Neither Soler or Baez are considered to be starters and both have struggled and not reached the lofty expectations put on them by others who speculate about such things. Yet Maddon still manages to give them playing time. Everyone watched the Cubs acquire Heyward, Zobrist while resigning Fowler and everyone thought... obviously they have to trade Baez and Soler... only 8 can play every day... no starting spot for them... they must go. Nope... Interesting approach they took instead. They kept them and they actually play them more often then the random getaway day line-up that other managers employ for an example of creativity.
  16. I've been trying to think of a way out of this and the only solution I can think of is: The youngsters performing. With that 40 Man in it's current state... The youth has to advance or spoil and a manager who is willing to cast aside youth to scrape out a win in the teams current predicament sure seems problematic to me. I don't ever want to condemn a manager for not thinking like me but... It just seems obvious to me and hopefully everyone that the youth on the 40 man are reaching a put up or shut up crisis and not ready to put up problem that may only be worse in 2017.
  17. This looks really familiar.
  18. Where Mike Max got this information... I have no idea... Players not taking instruction is probably a common enough occurrence to be plausible... BUT... BUT... If the Twins sent Sano down for instructional issues and continued to play Brian Dozier with his obvious instructional issues. Well... At that point... the double standard will be proven and the issue can be put to bed without any need for further discussion.
  19. I thought about hiding this post because unless I was reading it wrong... it seemed a little too snarky. I chose not to hide it because it was at least historically interesting. I do believe that this topic and the subsequent posts are fair game. Terry Ryan is getting blasted right now and TD Posters can actually post what they would have done differently in the off season. The wheels have come off... explain how you would have kept them on. It seems potentially much more constructive than just saying he must go. I've done this with my grievances and it helped me conclude (hypothetically of course) that my moves would have been minimal improvements at best.
  20. That's Smart... I wouldn't have thought of that.
