  1. The Tigers GM is Al Avila -- 313-471-2000 Ian Kinsler's Agent is Jay Franklin -- 877-608-4966 Call Them Why all this Dozier talk? Go get the guy you want.
  2. I don't know what the Twins have been offered right now. I also don't know what the Orioles or Angels can offer in the future. I'm trying to say the landscape will change because it always does and you are trying to make me project the current landscape into that changed landscape. Could it be worse for the Dozier market? Yes Could it be better. Yes The only thing I know is that it obviously isn't good enough right now because no deal has been made despite an obvious fit. People keep posting... His value will never be higher. There is this desperation from some to trade him now to maximize his value. It's like... they want to maximize his value so badly that they are willing to minimize his value to do so.
  3. Then it would be a bad deal for the Dodgers and now you get to keep him so you don't have to worry about that anymore.
  4. Yeah... That Use By This Date stamp on his forehead has been mentioned in this thread 1,249 times. Circumstances change. Neil Walker gets hurt again... The Braves are 1st place in the East on June 1. Sam Coonrod develops a bugs bunny change and shoots up those prospect rankings. Things will look different... the landscape will move and I know this because it always does. and in the end... if Brian Dozier spoils in our arms... so be it.
  5. Maybe... I have no idea. I'm just not the sort that feels strongly about the strength or weakness of a minor league package of player or players. I'll give my opinion on Brett Lawrie without hesitation but I ain't all that sure about Moncada yet. Thats just the way I am. DeLeon maybe the next Koufax... I don't know and right now I don't care. I choose to trust the decision makers and if they set a price... They should hold firm and wait for it. If you don't get it... You eat it... But you don't settle because it just lets the big boys stay big and strong. I just feel strongly that the team in contention pays for that final piece because that's how it is supposed to work. Quite a few were upset about what the Twins gave up for Jepsen. Not me... I was upset that all we got was Jepsen. I would have paid more for more. It's what contending teams do. We were in contention and we needed bullpen help. So we paid a price for it and that's how it is supposed to work. The Dodgers get to settle... Not us... The Dodgers are the ones with the 200 million payroll. The Dodgers are the ones who have that better than average chance at winning it all. If they choose to fill 2B with Jed Lowrie instead so they can keep their prospects for 2018 and beyond... could've had Dozier... Could've had Dozier... Could've had Dozier... Will be the repeatable singalong chorus of a new Dodgers song if they lose out in the wild card game. Contending teams pay.
  6. We did over value him if you consider that the Dodgers were seemingly the only team bidding and seemingly low balling.
  7. I keep reading that Dozier's value will never be higher. This is obviously not true if you consider that the Dodgers were seemingly the only team bidding and seemingly low balling.
  8. Based on the results of rumors so far this season. Looks like we are getting BAUTISTA!!!!
  9. I agree with all of this Except for that Dodgers great year part
  10. If the Twins sign Bautista. It will prove that it was Terry Ryan unwilling to spend and not Pohlad being unwilling to spend. I'd like that question answered once and for all. If the Twins don't sign Bautista... we still won't know who was responsible. It's worth a draft pick and 17 million dollars to find out.
  11. Isn't TwinsDaily wonderful. The admins are also planning a "Where are my Car Keys Forum" down the road.

  13. He can't throw it that far?
  14. Yep Any GM that can't think outside the box is going to remain in the box while the others enjoy the clear advantage of operating with room to spare.
  15. Yep I used to like Rosenthal He's not getting a Xmas Card from the Riverbrian's next Easter
  16. Honestly... I wasn't for signing Bautista earlier because I was pretty sure a Dozier deal was going to happen and the Dozier deal was the tear down starting gun. Now... the tear down must be delayed until a better time. So Gather up thy assets and get ready for the next window. I've officially changed from No Bautista to Yes Baustista.
  17. I get that... It just means that the Twins will have to draft better in the third round.
  18. The Twins settle for a lesser prospect package Or... the Dodgers settle for a lesser 2B. The Dodgers will be the team settling and I'm perfectly happy with that. We WIN!!!
  19. If Plan A was to get decent value for Dozier and they didn't get decent value for Dozier. They must move to plan B. With Dozier being the only decent rebuild chip to cash in... Keeping Dozier means plan B is improving the team around him. The Top Free Agent remaining is Bautista and he is ready to settle for a one year deal and this allows the team to execute Plan B and easily shift back to Plan A should a better offer for Dozier arrive down the line during the 2017 season. While we wait for the return to Plan A moment... Bautista brings some protection for Sano... Some heavy attitude for the young players to observe and a chip on his shoulder with money to make on his next contract and if Bautista knocks a few out of the park while showing the baseball world that he deserves the money... He will have trade value at the deadline for a deeper better Plan A. There isn't any decent starting pitchers to spend money on... and it's only money... so why not... go for it is my vote.
  20. I was hoping for aggressive bullpen shopping. Still hoping for it but it isn't looking good
  21. Normalize Cano's 39 like he suggests and Dozier is back on top
  22. I understand your point... and I wouldn't call it an argument because that sounds so... I like to call it a discussion... If you are going to take out Brian Dozier's best year... You have to take out the other second baseman's best year as well to be fair. Cano shouldn't get to use his 39 last year. Gyorko shouldn't get to use his 30 last year Kinsler shouldn't get his 28 last year Tulowitski should lose his 25 in 2014 and Hanley should lose his 30 last year After you inflict the same damage on everybody else that you want to inflict on Dozier... We are back to Double Digits again.
  23. Dozier led middle infielders in home runs if you take 2016 away and just use from 2013 to 2015.
  24. In my opinion... the Dodgers and Twins have equal amounts of leverage. Go down the list of Plan B 2B's should they fail to acquire Dozier. The options will be much more expensive... cost more in prospects or be a significant drop off in talent. Forsythe is a lesser player than Dozier on a team that needs MLB ready offense. The Dodgers and Twins kind of need each other and that is probably why we are still waiting for it to happen in January. The Dodgers are the team with the huge payroll and needing to get past the Cubs, Nats, Cards, Mets and Giants. If they don't and Dozier isn't on the roster. Questions will be asked.
