  1. Probably no chance of that person being me.
  2. I've been happy with the pitching. Some like to focus on Lynn but I like focusing on Romero, Odorizzi, Berrios and Gibson and I've been happy with those 4. The Bullpen has been decent so I've been happy with the pitching. Defense, baserunning and hitting is another story. It's looking like we are going to need better health and performance from the healthy.
  3. We didn't pinch hit for Cave with a 2 run lead. It was the last at bat when the game was tied 1-1 when Grossman was called.
  4. Rodney strikes out the side. Very Nice.
  5. There ya go Logan. And Thank you to the other Logan.
  6. C'mon Morrison. PUT THAT BALL IN PLAY. or walk.
  7. Here comes a lefty to face the next 4 hitters.
  8. "Hi... I'm new in town can you tell me how to get to your place".
  9. Here comes the RH for 3 batters.
  10. I'll tell you this much... If I was the GM. I'd do everything in my power to not roster Gordon or Wade until next year because of service time. That's what makes the commitment to Adrianaza or the addition of LaMarre so perplexing to me. I have no other choice but to believe that somebody believes that Adrianaza can do the job. If he was rostered strictly as a break glass in case of emergency guy... that would be real bad roster management and it will force the Twins to roster Gordon sooner then they should.
  11. I agree... I'd like to hear more of him but he has to stop cuing the lawyers. They were talking about the extension of the protective netting and Morneau says I'm thinking the Twins Organization and the MLB offices will squirm a little when they hear those comments.
  12. I know you get it... But take a look at the 40 man. Look at the pitching on the roster. There isn't an obvious pitcher to cut other than Hughes and they are not going to cut Hughes... yet. Why cut Cave, Granite or LaMarre just so Wade can come up for 10 days and be sent back down when Mauer comes back or Sano comes back.
  13. Because it's better than striking out.
  14. Black and White are the only colors in your world.
  15. Yeah at least 40 of them. We are already going to lose one of them when Santana comes back. Why kick another to the curb if you don't have to. Cave can be called up with no casualties. Wade can only be called up with a casualty. Wade has to be much better than Cave in that scenario.
  16. I can't but it's been happening for a while. Today I'm actually happy with the lineup construction. Molitor threw in the towel and it's about time. Look what he did: Right Left Left Switch Left Right Left Right Right He's been spacing out the rights and lefts every game and that is smart to do but he must have finally come to the conclusion that the way the right handers are hitting... spacing them out was causing a problem stringing hits together. I'm encouraged to see him trying something else. Maybe later he will drop Dozier into the 4 or 6 hole and really shock us.
  17. Cave was on the 40 man Wade was not. Wade would require the release of someone to make room.
  18. Very smart.. You took math just long enough to count 1 2 3 4 or even up to a sixteenth note and then you were perfectly prepared for Music.
  19. This is what exactly what I'm struggling with. I want to give the front office the benefit of the doubt and I'm trying but something isn't clicking with me. We broke camp with: Morrison Castro Mauer Dozier Sano Escobar Rosario Buxton Kepler Garver Adrianaza Grossman LaMarre Somebody had to believe that at least Adrianaza and Grossman could play full time when the DL stints start. Yet one can't hit and the other can't be trusted in the field. LaMarre was hot in spring training, he was hot when he got limited opportunities and he was hot when he was sent down to AAA for a day but Molitor wouldn't play him even if Morrison was hitting .087. I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt but... the roster seems to be contingent upon everybody staying healthy for the entire year or the mistaken belief that Adrianaza and Grossman can be full time regulars in the IF and OF.
  20. You are right... the injuries are a blow but every team suffers that blow at some point. This isn't above normal in my opinion and should have been planned for. Where you and I are going to disagree is saying it's our best 4 hitters and attempting to weight the blow heavier as a result and I guess that's a matter of opinion. Using OPS in 2017 the top 5 were. Morrison .868 Sano .859 Dozier .853 Rosario .836 Mauer .801 To put that in perspective: Trout, JD Martinez, Judge, Votto, Hoskins, Harper, Stanton, Olson, Blackmon, Were all over 1,000 in 2017. Freeman, Goldschmidt, Arenado, Altuve, Jose Ramirez, Bryant, Justin Turner, Correa, Conforto, Rendon, Bellinger, Cozart, Pham, Zimmerman, Cruz, Ozuna, Beltre, Marwin Gonzalez, Abreu, Bour and Upton were over .900 Rizzo, Jose Martinez, Cespedes, Springer, Avisail Garcia, Smoak, Hosmer, Encarnacion, Thames Gary Sanchez, Domingo Santana, Gennett, Gallo and Austin Jackson were all higher than our best. They are not our top 4 and even if it was our top 4 you can see how it compares.
  21. I want through the DL list of every major league team. What the Twins are going through isn't excessive. Some teams are worse off than we are and some teams are indeed healthier than we are but it's about mid-pack. I also went through the disabled lists from years past and it turns out that nearly every team has a rash of injuries at some point so it is reasonable to expect those teams that are currently healthier than we are... won't be later on. It happens often enough... like all the time... it should be a consideration when it comes to roster building. If this amount of injuries/suspensions has got us upside down. We never had a chance because having this amount should have been planned for. Since it happens like... I don't know... all the time.
  22. This is simultaneously a stupid idea and absolutely necessary. In the past 15 days: Brian Dozier is an assumed leader of the team and he is leading the team off a cliff with a .646 OPS Eduardo Escobar is no longer carrying the team. He appears to be taking a breather with .584 OPS Byron Buxton is not even a major league hitter right now. He is absolutely lost with a .255 OPS Mitch Garver remains the backup catcher because? Defensive Issues I assume. Bobby Wilson has replaced Jason Castro as the starter or at least the guy who is getting more starts. .584 OPS Ehire Adrianaza is being forced to play every day and he is failing to grab the opportunity with both hands. OPS .503 Gregoro Petit has hit the ball in his limited attempts but has also shown defensive issues in limited attempts and Molitor won't play him... based upon the fact that Molitor hasn't been playing him. This is everyone on the current 25 man roster who can hit from the right side of the plate. This team can't wait for Sano while simultaneously waiting for everyone else. It needs Sano right now!
