    Someone from Central Michigan goes #1 in the NFL draft. Big Ten recruiters dropping the ball?

    I read the article and I get the impression that Terry Ryan runs an organization and he has people that he relies upon and trusts. Sounds a lot like most businesses in all professions. He says in the article that he gets an opinion from Goin on everything. Billy Beane probably wasn't a sabermetric expert and got opinions from DePodesta. Epstein Hired Bill James to provide opinion. I guess I just read the article differently.

    Discussion and Opinions are always interesting. Personally... I start to cringe when the discussion and opinions start labeling professionals as idiots or inept without context of what exactly they have done or are capable of doing.

    Specifically... I don't know... But in all of baseball... There has to be a Lars Anderson type CF who can be acquired for next to nothing and then provide backup duties until Mastro is back. He won't be Mike Trout but he may make a catch and get a knock here and there.

    Sinkers need to be down in the zone. They tend to come in flat if you leave them up. You produce more of a drop and produce more ground balls with the downward plane. A flat sinker left up in the zone... Tends to make a solid loud sound when they come off the bat because they get tagged. Miami bats (Even on outs)... produced that loud sound over and over again on Tuesday Night.

Gardy: yeah... Better safe than sorry... This could be serious. Terry: the trainer was going to talk with him today and let him know he has an ulcer. Gardy: (To Pelfrey)... Terry talked with the trainer... You have an Ulcer. Pelfrey: I haven't even seen the trainer. I just ate a little too much... Just forget it I don't need the tums. Gardy: we gotta be careful with these things... We are putting you on the D.L. Pelfrey: I don't have an ulcer Gardy: I'm sorry Pelf but you are not a medical professional. (Gardy starts walking away) Pelfrey: I haven't seen a medical professional... How would he know???

    While the Correia debate was spirited in its debate... I think we can agree that Gardy left Pelfrey in too long.

    I gotta ask... Bulldog? Whenever someone is a fighter... Battles thru the tough times... Stubborn... They are sometimes referred to as a Bulldog. Is this really the nature of a bulldog? I find Bulldogs to be docile and affable. I think Rottweiler or Pitbull is better.
