  1. Buxton has been injured or disabled for over 50% of his time with the Twins. In comparison, Puckett and Hunter were on the field over 90% of the time. Just unfortunate for both Buxton and Twins fans.
  2. World Series win without a doubt......it's all about the memories made....those last forever. Will never forget the euphoria that filled the Twin Cities in 87, and the memories made of watching the Twins take it all with my friends and family. 91 was just as wonderful, but 87 came as a shocker. World Series Champions merch under the Christmas tree in 87 galor. Good memories man....all about the memories.....besides, when you team bites, their is usually something good on Netflix.
  3. Do not mind the discussion, it is where we are. Just wish we weren't having it. I m a g i n e ... if you can ...Back in Feb. Falvey decides the bullpen is a priority, and spends 11 Million on that rather than Gallo. I m a g i n e that world if you can.
  4. Excellent Article.....only problem.....it's after the fact. Brock Beauchamp had it all figured out in by Feb. 2nd. All we know for sure is how clueless this FO is.
  5. "He would likely take the spot of Joey Gallo"....which is why it won't happen....unfortunately.
  6. The Gallo $igning wa$ an 11 million dollar "$wing and a Mi$$" ...even though it wa$ $trike three a long time ago, the FO keep$ believing pitcher$ will $top exploiting an upper cut approach that result$ in a K over 40% of the time. Number of $ = 11
  7. Personally....I believe the Twins owners took Falvey's and Levin's phones and locked them up in a safe until the deadline was over......They've done enough damage the last few years to keep the Twins submerged in mediocrity for years. 500 is a good year. Get use to it.
  8. Love the headline....I was at the last game the Twins won...... Joe May pitched I believe. All downhill since....Just checked.....Twins won a game in 2003 vs NYY....this was the last win at home....so Twins are 1-22 in last 23 playoff games.
  9. "Here’s a list of prospects who have exited the organization in the past two years: Chase Petty, Cade Povich, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Spencer Steer, Steve Hajjar, Sawyer Gipson-Long and Casey Legumina (and Yennier Cano, if you want to count him as a prospect). Steer and Cano are already productive big leaguers, and Encarnacion-Strand was recently promoted by the Reds." -- Do-Hyoung Park
  10. Not sure how the Pohlads have handcuffed Falvey and Levine, 11M to Gallo, 200M to Correa, 73M to Lopez, etc, etc.....this FO just does not know how to trade well or who to dish the money out to. Personally I hope the 2023 season blows up, (repeat of 2022) signaling a need for a change in leadership, FO and on the field.
  11. All I know....is the track record speaks for itself, I am ready for a change in the FO. This FO keeps finding ways to making the future less and less bright. The Twins current brand of baseball bores me.... all you to do to announce a Twins game is perfect...."a swing and a miss"...half your job is done.
  12. This is from an article that was released on Feb. 2nd, 2023. Phil Miller reported that Twins President of Baseball Operations Derek Falvey said the bullpen is not a priority right now. The Twins did a good job of addressing the bullpen at the last trade deadline and shuffling some pieces led to the Twins being middle of the pack overall. But given the acquisition of Carlos Correa, Joey Gallo, and Pablo Lopez, this feels like a re-hash of previous offseasons, the last two of which has gone very poorly for the Twins in regards to fielding a good bullpen in the first half of the season. Given the availability of marginal but solid relievers and the low cost of acquiring one as insurance against Jorge Lopez, Griffin Jax, Emilio Pagan, and others, I don't see why this decision is being made once again. ______________________ It's mind boggling that for the 3rd straight season the Twins have failed to assemble a decent bullpen. What, this was the 4th cave in of the year...on pace for 22 games.....WHEN WILL IT BECOME A PRIORITY? Texas Rangers signed Will Smith for 1.5M, Royal Chapman for 3.75M, Rockies, Brad Hand 2M. All Left handers. Twins sit on their hands.
  13. Has anyone in this thread pointed out the obvious....NONE of today's free agents want to play for a team north of Iowa...at least not one without a dime stadium.
  14. Whoever said that must have been a Minnesota Twins fan.
  15. What's that saying... "the more things change the more they stay the same."
  16. I was at opening day the first year. It was a beautiful sunny day....far from cloudy.
  17. Escobar was moved to make room for Sano at 3rd... plus I believed the Twins thought Mauer would anchor 1st for at least two more years. Too bad we don't have Sano at first and Esco at 3rd in 2020.
  18. Use up guys like Berrios, Rogers, May, Duffey until their arms fall off. There is no tomorrow. Oh and a guy like Dobnak is a cool cat, but I would never think about running him out there to start a playoff game. Baldelli had no other options... thanks to Pineda's blunder. Even if the twins won game 3 who starts game 4. "Thin ice" doesn't even begin to describe how few options the manager had for starting pitchers. Another point: who brings in a AAA pitcher to relieve in a tied playoff game. Stashak...in game 1. Baldelli had so few options.... Meanwhile Boone had options coming out of his ears.
  19. The game of baseball teeters in the strike zone. In all three games it was obvious the empire's slanted the strike zone in the Yankees favored. Smoltz mention this in game 2 from the broadcast booth. the best thing that could happen to bring more parity into MLB is electronic balls and strikes... Especially in the playoffs. do you think mlb or any of the networks want to see Minnesota and the Nationals in the world series... NNY is a superior team but Minnesota never even had a chance... It was like the outcome was decided before the games were even played.
  20. It's highly probable, and fits in well with Minnesota sports lore that Cle, TB, and Oak will all over take the Twins. "The Twins will miss the playoffs by one game." - Sjoski
  21. The Twins feast on 3-5 starters...so the central is most likely theirs...How the bats fair against premium starters is another question. This team isn't built for a deep playoff run...but let enjoy a great season.

  23. Stan Williams pulled off a win without throwing a pitch for the Twins. It was in April of 1970 or 71. Before he threw a pitch he picked the runner off of 2nd in a tied game in the top of the ninth. Twins scored in the 9th to win.
