  1. Was going to post a simple "You're fired", but then remembered that I was thinking the same thing. Kid pitched well is still my takeaway, but only because I'm forced to because of my stupid 'however the game turns out' qualifier in my earlier compliment to AA.
  2. On the contrary, it proved that Glunn is unafraid to share his feelings, and our image of him as a man is the richer for it... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/70/Bob_at_Easel.jpg
  3. Thanks, but it was really just a no-brainer after the Morneau/trade/salary debate.
  4. Got an autographed picture of Doumit at Twinsfest laying around somewhere. Had trouble framing it for some reaason...
  5. Ryan already turned 'em down. Tigers wouldn't eat enough of Cabby's contract...
  6. Looks like you were right to test him by putting runners on with the jinx. Kid did a great job of digging himself out of the hole. Got Cabrera again. However the game turns out, that has to be a confidence builder.
  7. Going Up North is generally regarded as a good thing in Minnesota, at least on summer weekends and holidays. Does that count?
  8. Looks like the second v should be capitalized after Doumsie's shot.
  9. Doumit misses bunt sign, goes deep, ends up in dog house.
  10. Nice game for Herrmann, but please, Gardy, can we not be subjected to seeing him being sent, even on a full count? Oh, wait, I forgot. He's batting second, meaning he's fast today.
  11. 4.5 million less than what they wasted on the second year of Correia's contract?
  12. They got something of significance for a lesser player in Drew Butera. Gardenhire and now a reporter have identified money as the key issue in a potential Morneau deal. It's difficult to see where you're coming by your opinion anywhere else but reverse-engineering it from the starting point that the front office must be doing the right thing because they're the front office.
  13. A-10? Pffft. A Dakota guy, given the cold war history of the region, should be more worried about Chief going invisible B-2 strategic campaign on your...person. Sources tell me a hit was already in the works, but the fueler assigned to the plane had a late night at a bachelor party and succumbed to dehydration at the critical moment... http://www.defense.gov/transformation/images/photos/2005-07/Hi-Res/050630-F-5040D-065.jpg
  14. It looks like maybe you stopped reading after my first sentence.
  15. Even if the odds are closer to one in a hundred than one in ten, can a team with the worst rotation in baseball really afford to rule much of anything out? At this point they're just looking for guys who can get the ball from the mound to home plate.
  16. That's not going to happen while they're sitting on the bench watching Morneau for two more years. Even if it's just a one in ten chance that somebody can approach something like major league average, it would be nice to see the Twins give that a chance. Morneau is one of my favorite players, but he either needs to go to a team that will platoon him, or hang it up.
  17. Not saying Anderson is bad, just saying that there doesn't seem to be much evidence that he's turned many starters around. If I had a choice between the Twins dropping Anderson or their dreadful infatuation with pitching to contact, well, let's just say there wouldn't be a lot of pacing or head-scratching...
  18. So the starters he's helped improve are Deduno, Albers, and Hernandez. But you already acknowledged the jury is out on Albers, and Hernandez didn't actually improve. So Deduno is the one starter you can name that Anderson's improved. He's certainly been fun to watch, but so were other low-K groundballers like Blackburn, Mays, and Silva at some relatively brief point in their careers.
  19. Gardy calls his shot. Leyland's melon. Upper deck. Business, not personal. http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/001/221/665/121874590_display_image.jpg?1314126270
  20. That, or plunk him, take the charge and the dual injection, and keep him out of extra innings.
  21. http://www.allenschool.edu/blog-online/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/BrightSpot.jpg Bright spot alert!
  22. Also hope that bringing the tying Triple Crown run to the plate is not a recurring strategy..
  23. Weird sequence for Perk. Hope the outside fastball for the walk was strategy, not execution.
