    What do separatist Canadian politics have to do with being a... male entertainer? Not a judgement, just a query. Also, depending on which soccer parent's twitter account you research it with, there may be a chance that one outfit is the the Roughriders, and the other is the Rough Riders. Also, depending on how negotiations with FX over marketing rights go, it seems possible that one of them may change their name to Rough Service.

    Fun inning, great rally. Maybe my favorite part of it was still-newby Jack Morris bordering on the incredulous that Gardy pinch-hit a rook for a guy whose batting average has hovered between his systolic and diastolic for the past 5 weeks.

    With an eye toward the future, might want to save time/energy by listing non-struggling hitters instead. Sorry, couldn't resist. You're right, especially in the context of the overall expectations for 2014. The month of April told us that those expectations were upside down. Starters worse, hitters better. It probably told us wrong. Now we're seeing the inevitable, surprisingly rapid normalization of what was almost certainly a massive outlier month. Both pitching and hitting.

    It never reached 'get off my lawn' territory, but Morris's lamenting pitch counts made me afraid he was about to lambast the horseless carriage at any moment.

    That's the hard part about rooting (me too, btw) for a guy who is probably a better story than he is a player. He had an amazing April, but he's on his way to becoming the Yan Gomes of corner OF and 1b. He needs to hit, because it sure looks like the glove just isn't there.

    Just turned on game and the first thing I see is Nyjer Morgan's robbery of Pinto's XBH. Gamecast isn't working properly, since it shows Nolasco hasn't allowed a baserunner. Gomes doing an excellent job of putting Pinto's 'defensive issues' in perspective...
