  1. Verlander not immune to many kinds of hits this year. What's up? You're right, though, that was the kind of situation where the old Verlander (who was actually Young Verlander) would leave the Twins shaking their heads.
  2. Amazing that just a buck apiece from a few frequent posters can hire a kid to take pictures inside the stadium with his wireless digicam-equipped drone. Better hope he didn't bring spare battery packs to catch the late innings. Also, you have a piece of popcorn in your hair. Left side, just above and behind the ear. And have everyone look toward center field and slightly up at the end of the 7th inning stretch for the flyby group portrait. Have everyone bunch in a bit.
  3. Always pictured riverbrian more like the Walter White lookalike feigning surrender in the background rather than foreground The Thing - ish guy of that bottom photo. Meanwhile, all of Bark's dreams and prayers come true in one single magic moment... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2mBbM_wsWc
  4. I tell ya, it was a tough crowd... http://10minutesofbrilliance.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Rodney-Dangerfield.jpeg "My wife said she wanted to have sex in the back seat of our car... with me driving!"
  5. A lot of patience, or... http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view7/2516356/guns-n-roses-patience-o.gif ...just a little?
  6. Maybe Vikes can run a two point conversion and get back the PAT the Twins missed last night.
  7. Thank heavens you're not in the nosebleed seats in the Dome. Those gave me the willies even stone sober as a kid with good balance.
  8. Meaningless Vikings preseason game or meaningless regular season Twins game? http://yobeauty.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/homersimpson50.png
  9. Unless it's done nude except for a TD beauty contest-style banner and a Twins hat. Then it's all good.
  10. If I'm in asleep in my seat in the third it will be because I've badly overestimated the quantity of spirits on hand.
  11. Pretty hard to ask the offense to do more to give Escobar more chances than they did. And the bullpen managed to avoid an 8th or 9th of the kind that causes the obligatory "The largest 8th/9th inning deficit ever overcome in AL history is..."
  12. If he gets many more AB's against the Tigers bullpen, Arcia might not just catch Dozier, he might catch Mig Cab.
  13. And instead of printed across his back, 'Chamberlain' should be embroidered above his own special left shirt pocket.
  14. Scorer's choice, so Swarzak?
  15. Thanks to HD, it's possible to just make out the family of screech owls living in Joba Chamberlain's beard as they begin to stir and prepare for the night's hunt...
  16. "Let's destroy the Tigers' bullpen!" It would have been fun to see the Twins destroy the Tigers' bullpen, but looks to me as though the Tigers' front office beat them to it...
  17. Well, in order to blow a 5 run lead, you have to have a five run lead, so they could technically be preparing to blow another 5 run lead by scoring those runs...
  18. That escalated in a hurry. Vargas killed a guy with a trident.
  19. She's a rightie, but with a deceptive delivery that's difficult to pick up. Of course that probably has less to do with her mechanics than it does with her release point, which is often beside or behind me.
  20. Is there a scholarship available, CD?
  21. It's even more disturbing if you see the game reflected on a window or mirror, thus taking away the only remaining difference between the two.
  22. Watching the game with my kid, who is watching intently tonight because Grandma and Grandpa are at the game not far from the visitors' dugout. She understands some of the basics of the game, and we try to learn something new whenever we watch together. Early on, when Milone was struggling a bit, she started singing "Tommy Maloney, full of baloney!" out of nowhere. On a hunch, asked her which one is the pitcher, and she said "He's the one hitting all the bats". So maybe she's learned more than I've given her credit for.
  23. Neck and back sore for a week from staying in their resort next door.
  24. Lost year for Sano and Buxton. Pinto demoted. Hicks demoted. Again. May a disaster so far. Meyer still in AAA. Stewart's arm hurt. Santana and Vargas have been nice surprises, but otherwise this rebuilding year (or according to some, bridge-to-contention year) has been as disappointing as getting socks for Christmas.
  25. Fiennes agent on line 2.
