  1. Maybe that's why while driving through it my head grew heavy and my sight grew dim. Didn't stop for the night, though the warm smell of colitas made it tempting.
  2. Any time... or just midnight?
  3. Several years ago I relocated for work to Eastern time. Coasted into an interstate gas station with an empty tank. Knew it was very low but drove through Gary anyway. Went through after dark and remember thinking that if my company had offered me a promotion in Gary or my existing position in a city that looked just like the opening dystopian cityscape scene in Blade Runner, I'd have been like...'Uh, let me research the school situation a little'.
  4. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130607131706-wright-brothers-flight-1903-story-top.jpg This is from CNN website (no, really). Could revolutionize transportation some day, especially crossing large bodies of water.
  5. Nicely wrtitten. Can you be here tomorrow night? If we ask nicely?
  6. Pretty awful bench to PH for Gardy's last chance to prevent another 90-loss season that would get any other manager with his background fired.
  7. You lack the objective culpability of what we're seeing, and we lack the collective energy to offer a rebuke, so you're just minutes from washing your hands of your role in the dreadfully boring Bears/Jets game.
  8. Oh the TDeity!?! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qoSjsjj9Clk/Ua4LOTFCe_I/AAAAAAAAAeg/VRxvQPN3DRw/s1600/Hindenburg+disaster.jpg
  9. Didn't even have my hands folded or my eyes closed. My religion long ago privatized confession. Personal word of amends of ok?
  10. The similarities are impossible to ignore.
  11. We've mostly (males, anyway) all been there. Dragging mannequins, not wives, weirdos. Ankle or wrist, RB? Never mind. Ok, fine, asking which it was makes me labelled weird. Like I've never survived that before. What defines us as men (as men define us) is how we cope in a way that grants us a new lease on marital life and the continued possession of said life in a way that makes possible for fresh relationship start in exchange for keeping a dented 14' Lund that looks like it's been over Niagara and a 15 HP Evinrude that burns more oil than gas and still hasn't recovered from TV footage of the Kennedy assassination.
  12. Did he deal with the left or the right?
  13. Well now we'll know who you're having for dinner, old friend...
  14. Despite having just eaten, this comment oddly made me hungry for a Snicker snack. Funny how the mind works. Well, my mind anyway. Saved whoever would have added that last sentence for me the trouble. You know who you are.
  15. That made me laugh so hard my ribs and eyes hurt.
  16. Will follow the story as long as it doesn't clash with my weekend to-do list.
  17. If you want to attend snark boot camp, immersion school, and PhD honors program all rolled into one, then the Game Thread is the place you oughta be. And fwiw I had to look to see if my memory that they played the Kitties to close it out was correct. That's how invested I am at this point.
  18. So at least a split in the four games remaining with them is a done deal? Maybe I'll watch after all.
  19. Is that Pinto automatic or manual? Four or six? Hatchback or station wagon? J/k. Answer is Pinto in any combo.
  20. Understandable error. As Vegas odds maker Rod Stewart predicted, Some Guys have all the luck. It's a small but important difference....
  21. Hang in there. Shouldn't take to long to see something dumber. If not from them. then from me. Safe bet. Ask around.
  22. Yup, good move by the Nats, Wouldn't object to him in that role for the Twins, but only with a manager who could be trusted not to be tempted to rely on him as a starter. Maybe someday soon the Twins will have one who can.
  23. Heading out to the storage shed right now to look for the sheaves. Thinking about bringing them in.
  24. One less pair of grownup scissors for Gardenhire to run with...
