  1. Why wouldn't he be? People are still coming to see the games and watching them on TV, aren't they?
  2. As opposed to the Twins, who have a cluster luck bullpen.
  3. It makes sense that there has been grumbling today and on other days like it that used to be automatic sit days for Mauer the catcher but that figured to be play days for Mauer the first baseman. That being said, his career line against David Price is... .176/.263/.206 in 34 AB's
  4. No, but I hear Rosie O'Donnell's breath can.
  5. And it looks like CJ WIlson could be out for the rest of the year. The Twins won't be a wild card team, but it's looking more and more like it won't be because of the Angels.
  6. He just did. Three of them. Of course every other pitcher is retiring a Twin left and right, so it's not really a big deal...
  7. Good catch; that's obviously a mistake. There's no way they loaded the bases 15 times since July 17.
  8. Martin setting up in Nova Scotia for the two out 0-2 to Nunez...
  9. Amen, kitty kat. Just don't bring it back here, either.
  10. Not sure how to break this to you Dave, but someone has been posting on your account while you were in that coma during the month of July...
  11. If you played Let's Make a Deal with opposing teams and offered them a chance to face Boyer to start an inning or forfeit the inning in exchange for a run, would it even matter to them what the game situation was? Yes, his ERA is below 9, but wouldn't almost any team right now, under almost any circumstances, have a go at Boyer instead of exchanging the inning for a free run?
  12. Depends on the lighting, maybe? But hey, Twins fans got Kevin Jepsen, the trade deadline's Sweat Pants and Pint of Hagen Daz..
  13. Moonlight Graham: "Hey ump, how 'bout a warning?" Ump: "Sure, kid. Watch out ya don't get killed." http://www.screeninsults.com/images/field-of-dreams-archie.jpg
  14. Well, Dantana and his cherry red '57 could be back in September, right? Give it some time. Still two months to go. http://www.modelroundup.com/v/vspfiles/photos/AMT-3105-2.jpg
  15. Yup. Then he Rick Reeded his hand picking up his duffel bag, but that's off the record.
  16. Out indefinitely with concussion. Slid head first into the door of the training facility in Ft. Meyer.
  17. Kind of surprised they didn't force Mauer to play a day game after a... day game, just to stick to one of the few more important Twins Way rules, Maximizing Platoon Disadvantage.
  18. True, but on the flip side, if you'd have told me the Twins would still be in it at the halfway point against a lineup of Tulo, Donaldson, JBats, Encarn, and five French Canadian lingerie mannequins I'd have been pretty stoked.
  19. When I heard that it made me want to mess up his hair so bad that if it were school picture day they'd make him do retakes.
  20. Price in 2014 form. Pelfrey 2014, that is.
  21. Holding it by the thin end is working wonders. Brunanasky worth every penny yet again.
  22. If Jep is the one-size-fits-all 8th inning guy, there's a pretty good chance he's going to get knocked around by teams that can put two or three decent lefty/switch hitters out there against him.
  23. Agree with much of what you said, but not sure that Tonkin's MLB numbers really suggest failure. His ERA in his 11 innings this year looks awful, but almost all of it was a result of a HR/9 rate that was more than 4 times his previous MLB rate. His other peripherals were slightly better than Jep's 2015 numbers, and most of his three year MLB peripheral averages are substantially better. And much more relevant now that the trade has been made, Tonkin's MLB peripherals, including this year's, mostly suggest that he's a better pitcher than Boyer, Graham, Thompson, and Duensing.
  24. Ooh! I know this one! For the same reason he had his squad rely on 58 foot sliders and defensive indifference with a one run lead in the ninth last night, and asked to be ejected in the process: he's not a very good manager.
  25. Long after he moved on from the Twins, Ricky Nolasco still reminisced fondly about playing for Terry Ryan... http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/2014-02/enhanced/webdr07/14/17/enhanced-buzz-5444-1392415515-20.jpg
