  2. Yup, and with a little more zip in his step since losing a few inches around both axes of his waste...
  3. You mean, like... charge the mound fight?
  4. Is it over yet? http://i.istockimg.com/file_thumbview_approve/61321312/5/stock-photo-61321312-cute-dog-peeking-out-from-under-the-soft-warm-blanket.jpg Game, not season...
  5. I know, right? But just when I blow my mind with my own cleverness is usually about the time I realize the bratwurst has erupted in flames on the grill, and then I run through the closed sliding door screen to put it out.
  6. Knowing the Twins, he'll be bringing his infamous Law with him.
  7. It's the hair. His PH balance has been off since the start of spring training.
  8. That's exactly what I thought. A 'rehab' assignment to rehab his swing could be a much better way back than noodling around in AAA and worrying about outcomes instead of process.
  9. Don't worry. The sheer improbability of continued losses will eventually catch up with the Twins, they'll somehow end up with a win, everyone will smile, and we'll all bravely move on to the next major losing streak with a spring in our step!!!
  10. Damn you, 0-8 start! Can't you see what you're doing to us?!?!
  11. Thanks for the support. Next issue of the newsletter might not be out for a couple of days, though. Being down on the Twins has made me determined to do something positive with my afternoon so I'm saving the planet with some extra recycling...
  12. Dang! I used up my 'like' quota! I forgot that was a thing. It didn't reset at midnight? Everybody give yourself at least three likes just for showing up.
  13. Heh. That, and the morbid obesity running rampant from the 'cent off per Twins batter K' donut promotion...
  14. I hear yah, and yet compared to his current light sweet crude .270 OBP, the iffy power stroke might be Swiss francs bankable. Either way, he's gotta get on track or they're dead in the water.
  15. Don't forget the faint rustle of a newspaper want ad section as Brunansky looks for work in between Twins striking out.
  16. Probably, which is a big factor in its favor at this point. In all seriousness, there's pretty good statistical evidence to support the idea that the high-obp, non-sluggy guy like Mauer is closer to the ideal for a leadoff hitter than a .320 OBP speedster. Or a .220 OBP speedster, for that matter. And given that Dozier's power is probably a more bankable part of his game than OBP or speed, there's not a lot of risk in making the switch.
  17. Just tuned out for a sanity break. Cosmic balance of the universe. Using the quiet time to contemplate what might make a good theme song for the '16 Twins. With the apparent Buxton injury (was he damaged while passing through the extreme forces of Sano's gravitational pull?) my first thought ran to REM's bouncy dirge (???) "It's the End of the World as We Know It". But upon further reflection, it seems a little early in the season to go with that, so my alternative was the more open-ended Talking Heads song "Road to Nowhere". David Byrne's insane crow caws at the end are therapeutic to yelp along with, and overall it has a very game thread-y feel to it. It's also fun to play along with if you happen to have a snare drum or accordion handy... Takeaway line of the day: "... maybe you wonder where you are; I don't care..." http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/9-25-2015/EtCFr4.gif
  18. How long were you dating Ms. Bobbitt before it all went terribly wrong?
  19. And if not, I say man up and press on toward 0-9 and beyond. Eventually we're bound to break through the barrier to a historical precedent for a playoff appearance.
  20. My mom wanted me to go into pediantrics, but I can't stand the smell of baby.
  21. Suzuki is batting. There is probably no player in baseball better suited to demonstrating the difference.
  22. Maybe mix in a forfeit once in a while. It would assure them of at least a mention on ESPN.
  23. They were supposed to open for Talking Heads at CBGB's back in '79, but they were too sad to come out of the dressing room....
