    How many people would bother to read, let alone post, at TD if during a season this crappy nobody talked about what the Twins have done wrong or what they should do differently? A dozen? Fewer? With regard to your second point, what if the Twins DO go apewaste and play .500 ball to close out the season? They'll still lose 93 games and rank among the worst teams in baseball. In broad strokes, what does a basement-to-contention one season turnaround consist of for the Twins in your estimation? It would be a historically drastic reversal. It's been done before, but the '91 Twins are a brilliant illustration of what a series of breaks and even borderline miracles that kind of thing takes. And however you feel about Terry Ryan, or the Pohlads for that matter, you should be aware that if they start shoveling 2017 contention nonsense in the off season, they're going to shoot their remaining credibility in the foot with both barrels.

    As if you're not already after a season like this. Nobody would have dealt for Roy Hobbs without Wonder Boy, nobody's going to burn a high pick on Thor in their superhero fantasy draft without Mjolnir, and unless the Bunyan Bat comes with him nobody's going to come calling for Suzuki and the chance to benefit indirectly from his appearances in a new multi-million dollar Axe Body Spray promotion.

    I'm pretty sure there's at least one GM who might place at least a little stock in a hitter either improving or going on a half=season hot streak during his age 33 season. Unfortunately he's the one GM who could believe that and yet do the Twins absolutely no good in a Suzuki trade scenario.

    How about nobody gets to leave for lunch until there's a C+ prospect headed to MN for him? Or maybe make that a B- prospect. Dick said last night that with Zukey's recent hot streak we have to talk seriously about whether Kurt belongs in the All Star Game.
