  1. This series is ominous because now I just have to hope that someone beats the Yankees in the first round and we don't have to play them. We know we can beat the Astros and the A's aren't that bad of a matchup with us, but I just don't feel good about a matchup with the Yankees. If we are to have any hope of a championship we need our front office to support us.
  2. How could anyone have known that Smeltzer actually knows how to pitch? Noone else in that dugout or bullpen knows how to pitch, so I suppose Baldelli just figured it can't get any better with anyone else. Great job by Smeltzer, though, in keeping us in a game that really looked like we were going to be embarrassed.
  3. 3-6 homestand. Probably the worst that we could have expected. I suppose it could have been worse, but it's difficult to do worse than 3-6 at home. I wish we had an edge at home like other teams. Really never have since moving into Target Field.
  4. Well, one positive is at least we don't play in the AL East and have to play these guys 19 times. Because that would truly be suffering every year.
  5. The thing is, those players still would have played somewhere. They just would have been more split up among the league.
  6. And I am a HUGE Baseball history fan! So it's not like I do not appreciate the Yankees history. I just see practically that what they have done, in my opinion, has hurt baseball.
  7. Honest question for everyone: Has the existence of the Yankees franchise for a century been good or bad for baseball? I admit I am biased, but overall I would actually argue that the Yankees have, for the most part, been bad for baseball in the last 100 years.
  8. No matter what happens in this inning, GREAT JOB SMELTZER!
  9. Smeltzer is making a strong case to be our ONLY starter next season.
  10. I'm just thankful it's turning into a baseball game again. When you play the game, you need to respect the integrity of the game. The last three innings of last night's game and the first four innings of this game were disrespectful to the integrity of Baseball. It's really nice to see some Baseball again these last three innings.
  11. Well, we have one pitcher! Keep him in for the rest of the game!
  12. That's the style! I can only hope that Odorizzi is watching this from the dugout. He could learn a thing or two!
  13. I had a feeling Odor-eater would be a complete basketcase tonight, but this Smeltzer is impressive. I think we found one piece to our new bullpen.
  14. Keep fighting Smeltzer! Keep fighting, Twins! Long night again for me!
  15. Even though it looks like the Twins might not score in this inning, isn't it somewhat refreshing to actually be playing baseball again? Because the first four innings is not what is commonly referred to as Baseball.
  16. More like ODORIZZI GIVING UP ON THE GAME!
  17. Luis Arraez: What a BALLPLAYER!
  18. Uh-oh. Someone knows how to throw a baseball!
  19. Good job, Devin. In Major League Baseball, getting a run is supposed to be difficult! Shut them down!
  20. Seriously, can we stop this stupid video game nonsense please!? We're setting baseball back to the 19th Century with this garbage! You're professional pitchers. Start pitching.
  21. I hate this series with a passion. It is unprofessional and ridiculous. Still, if the Twins can find a way to take 2 out of 3 in all of this mess, I would still be happy.
  22. If you want my opinion, this series has been very bad for baseball. It's like a video game. Sure, I will repeat what I said last night, I am proud of our Twins for competing with them, but that doesn't mean this series is good for baseball. This 11-10, 14-12 garbage IS BAD FOR BASEBALL.
  23. Here are some things it proves: 1. Oakland's pitching staff is REALLY, REALLY GOOD! The Twins offense did not look anywhere near this against Oakland. Our hitting wasn't atrocious. But it wasn't doing what it's doing in the Yankees series. 2. I will not watch Twins-Yankees games. I pretty much have watched almost every Twins game this year. But I have no interest in watching when the Twins play the Yankees. It's not worth the frustration anymore after decades of losing to them. Everyone will call game 2 a classic but actually it went pretty much according to how the Yankees games always go since we were the Washington Senators. When you lose routinely to a team since Eisenhower was in office, it just isn't as fun anymore to watch or listen. 3. Blake Parker is a disaster. 4. Taylor Rogers is not a closer but he is a really good reliever.
  24. If these guys are not the greatest team in baseball I think I will now hide under the bed. Because I would hate to find out who is better than this wrecking machine!
  25. I am serious! We are playing the best team in Baseball, (by far), toe to toe. That says an awful lot.
