  1. I have 3 boys who will be broken-hearted when Joe does decide to hang up his cleats. They know it’s inevitable but they grew up watching and mimicking No. 7
  2. We have no one ready at 2B considering Gordon isn’t hitting well and makes a lot of errors. The best hope for middle infield is Royce Lewis who isn’t going to be ready for a while. If he continues to hit, sign him for the ‘19 season.
  3. I’m impressed with this analysis, Tom. The players we got in return for our former players are doing so well!
  4. Buxton had a terrific night in Rochester. Time to call him up in September.
  5. The season is practically over except with playoff contending teams. September call-ups, Arizona League, and Spring Training rosters are the main focus. I suspect Gonsalves has earned a call up with tonight’s stellar performance, aside from Button, I don’t see position players as call ups. Romero needs another start at Rochester to prove he is worthy.
  6. Stewart deserves a couple more starts. His sinker was working well. He knows now that he needs to mix in his other pitches going through the line-up. Offensively and defensively, the position players offered little support. Third baseman play was horrible.
  7. Mr Brooks You do agree that he was a huge reason for the Mets reaching the World Series, win or lose, no? You do acknowledge that Murphy would be a terrific placeholder at 2B while we wait for the farm hands to develop, no? We can pick nits, but the point is that the Twins will likely take a shot at getting Murphy, right?
  8. DYK? Murphy on record 6-game HR streak With 7 homers this postseason, 1 shy of all-time mark https://www.mlb.com/news/daniel-murphy-sets-record-with-home-run-streak/c-155222956 http://m.mlb.com/player/502517/daniel-murphy
  9. I look for the Twins to take a shot at free agent Daniel Murphy currently in his final contract year with the Nats. Murphy is a perennial .300 BA hitter and single handedly won the World Series for the Mets by hitting home runs in each of 6 World Series games. Murphy came off knee surgery this season but is performing at the same level he performed at pre-injury. We now realize the Twins like free agents who have come off of major injuries. Right now, the Twins farm system is not yielding a reliable 2B. Nick Gordon is hitting about .215 BA and commits a ton of errors.
  10. Five years through the farm system. A lost season. Good time to reward Kohl and recognize his dedication to his craft. Let’s see what he can do. I wish him every success.
  11. Not sure how many walk offs Rodney gave up this season, but more than enough. Chambers is tall and rail thin. His fastball sits at mid-90s with ability to hit 98. He’s a project for a good pitching coach. I’m not confident we have one of those.
  12. I hope Dozier continues to excel with the Dodgers and plays an important role in the playoffs. I’m equally hopeful that the collection of new Twins prospects results in future, sustainable success for the franchise. Sometimes a trade like this works out well for each side long term.
  13. The Arm-y looks promising. I hope the Twins can hit it big on one or two for 2019. In our small market, we are far more dependent on call ups than free agent signings, although I suspect we will have one or two signed in the coming off season. The rotation for 2019: Berrios, Romero, Santana (likely not extended),.. The bullpen for 2019: Hildy, Magill, Rogers,... Ober had TJ surgery in 2015
  14. If you look at Nick’s history, he tends to start out each season on fire. He then flames out about mid-season. I’m wondering about his stamina
  15. Dozier with a HR dead center for Dodgers. I grew up a Dodgers fan and a Twins fan. So, Dozier is in my past and foreseeable future. Jax was dominant tonight. I listened to the game, very impressive. And, De La Trinidad is making a terrific start with Ft. Myers. He has a history of slugging at each successive level.
  16. Ernie De La Trinidad is off to an incredible start at Fort Myers.
  17. Raley was the key to this deal. Forsythe won’t be back after this season. Smeltzer has no future. Dozier stopped trying to pull every pitch mid-season last year and he rocketed. This year he is back to trying to pull everything. If the Dodgers can convince him to use all fields, he will once again excel.
  18. Next time the Twins hit the All Star break in contention, several of these minor leaguers will be used as trade chips.
  19. I’m indifferent to Dozier being traded or not. Gordon’s problem is stamina. He starts each season like a ball on fire and fades about midway through his season—look at his history. Dozier is not going to made $9M next season with a .220 BA. More likely he signs for half that with a load of add-on incentives. He’s still solid in the field. Dozier can be a placeholder while those middle fielders behind Gordon catch up.
