    Happy Birthday shout outs to Trevor Plouffe and Ice Cube! On this day 40 years ago, The person you know as Bark's Lounge was also born. Bark has mixed feelings about this milestone. Melancholy is probably the word I'd choose. If the Twins get this game in today, they better damn well win and Plouffe better hit 3 home runs and I can assure everyone that I will then celebrate by listening to the song "Straight Outta Compton" and drinking a 40oz. of Eightball. Burn Em' Down!!!

    If a person wants to give up on Hicks, that is there right. No arguments from me. For me, personally, I cannot throw the towel in on a 25 year old outfielder who has the tool box Hicks has. Certainly he fumbles around with these tools more than one would like to see, but this year he seems to be getting the hang of it. He's only been up for a month and certainly hasn't blown **** up, but he definitely hasn't choked either. It's okay if people want to blame Hicks for last nights agonizing defeat, but I hope these same people will celebrate Hicks for winning us a game or two with his great plays in CF in the last month. Fair is fair.

    Stay on the point of the original spirit of the topic my friends. I don't want this to turn into a concussion based thread about Mauer. We all are aware of this and it's not breaking news. To me, a concussion is an injury just the same as a torn ACL, a torn UCL, a severely broken bone, or torn rotator cuff. **** happens. They all are very unfortunate. I'd like to see what poster's final Joe Mauer lines look like this season.

    To start this topic it out, I first want to say that I am a fan of Joe Mauer and I desperately want him to be successful on the baseball diamond. He had a handful of great years and I felt privileged to be able to watch him play the game. Over the last 1.5 years, it appears Joe has lost his mojo. His decline has been very concerning. Starting tomorrow, I hope he goes on a tear and hits .400 the rest of the year, I also hope that I hit the Powerball numbers on Saturday. Hope and reality, unfortunately, are on separate sides of the coin. My question is this: What do you folks think his final offensive stat line will be at the conclusion of this season? I certainly am not starting this topic to create chaos or for people to negatively vent, but I am curious to see what the predictions will be. Maybe they will give me a jolt of optimism, maybe they will make me feel worse about this subject than I already do now. The price of curiosity is always a wild card. My prediction: .289 BA, 7 HRs, .755 OPS

    I guess the question is this: Was there an awful pitch thrown to him in the early innings? The pitch Hunter was ejected on was a ball - no doubts. I do feel like Hunter did the right thing and hopefully the other guys on this squad took notice. To survive as a hitter in this league you need to show some intestinal fortitude sometimes and do the uncomfortable thing. This is good for the younger guys to understand they do not need to be timid and be forthright. This is not a shot or anything, but I would like to see Joe stick up for himself once in a while - let the volcano bubbling inside of you explode sometimes.

    Sometimes you have to throw a tantrum like a 4 year old. It was not close to being a strike. Hunter's job is not only being our RF, a part of his job is to show the other guys on this team when enough is enough. A Bull**** call will elicit a reaction that no umpire wants to deal with and Hunter gave it to him good and plenty. The next time that ump is calling balls and strikes during a Twins game, he will be a little more on point about how he calls strikes, especially against Hunter. Certainly, one would like to see these things avoided, but this was a good lesson to younger guys and when the HP ump watches the game video, he will know, he was dead wrong. Bravo.
