    I think Span is excellent. He is one of/or my favorite player on this team, but if anyone thinks that the Twins will get a Hunter Pence ransom for him are sorely mistaken. A Michael Bourne return is more likely if even that. If that is the case it makes no sense to trade him as you are essentially giving him away or trading him for another teams washed up prospect(s) - AKA Jordan Schafer (His Consecutive games with getting on base is a fluke). "F" that!

    The "Son of Sal" needs to be captured and put in his rightful place as a Single-A Player or a minor league coach. I must say though, the "Like Father Like Son" saying has some validity in the Butera family.

    If there is any argument to have Gardenhire replaced, it is pretty much a change of voice scenario. There are some like Thrylos and his minions who want to have Ron's head on a stake, but Gardy has done a pretty good job. You don't win Manager of the Year Awards if you are not respected amongst your peers and execute to a higher degree. If a change was made during the season, it would be a super shocker. If Gardy is out, it is probable the whole staff is gone as well. I can see a resignation this offseason if there isn't a major shift in progression this season and that does not necessarily mean wins vs. losses and no one except maybe Jerry White would be allowed to return to the MLB coaching staff if that scenario happens. I was reading a thread earlier today that brought up the name of Mike Redmond - If that change was made, I would be pretty stoked about that. If no player on the team has a fiery and leadership personality, I think Red Dog could fill both of those roles. It will be rebuilding no matter who holds the mantle of field manager. If you are to start over and trying to establish a new identity - Redmond fits the bill.

    I on the other hand, was one of the people who backed up the Twins in their decision to bring up Parmelee and I predicted that Parm would have some votes as AL ROY. I am of opinion that Morneau will not stay healthy unless he is a full time DH, and even then, that is a stretch. I am a Pro-Stereotype person when it comes to having power potential from your Corner Infielder's and that makes Mauer a Non Fit, especially with DV at 3B. I view Doumit as a 300-400PA type player, not an everyday starter - which lead me to believe that Parmelee was a good fit. The Twins screwed up by not playing him regularly to start the season. I could not make a guess if that is the reason he is struggling, but what the hell, everyone has essentially been struggling at the plate the last 2 weeks. Will they send Parm down? Probably sooner than later if he keeps hitting the way he is. I still think he can have a very good year knocking the ball around the yard. He won't hit 20 jacks, but who will except for Willingham? I do not want to hear the terms "more development", "more seasoning". "more blah, blah, blah"! Parmelee is 24 years old, old enough to figure it out. Old enough to be trusted to break out of a slump at the MLB Level. Enough of the paranoid coddling of young to semi young players. Also, Benson's demotion to AA is a mistake.

    I agree with you twinsnorth49. They also seemed to be wearing their uniforms a bit more precise. Maybe Gardy buttoned their jerseys and he straightened their caps appropriately. Valencia on the other hand is a vagrant and slouch. I think the Twins should trade him to the "Jersey Shores" program - for a player to never be named later.

    I totally get that. Walters is filler/AAAA. Devries may have some value and I will be optimistic until proven wrong. The subject of replacing Blackburn and Liriano for Walters and Devries is like switching squirrell poop Kool-Aid for raccoon poop Kool-Aid. It's all yucky and might give you Salmonella. Maybe one has an energetic effect at its onset? That is what we have as back up... I have made peace with it.

    I would put some chips on table for the chances of Walter's and Devrie's Pitching for the Big Club this year. Other than that, I rate their chances low to make an immediate and future impact. Maybe Devries can stick as a middle reliever.

    The Wimmer's situation is a bit disheartening. I am not so glad the plug was pulled so soon on Benson at AAA. What position does Benson slot into at AA? Rightfield or a rover?

    Yes, the Twins won tonight, and the fact of the matter is everyone would be quite pleasant and at peace if the Twins did that more than they didn't. But, embrace these times on Twins Daily. Losing and chaos creates more subject matter and Evokes passion, anger, and mental instability. In a perfect world things will turn around and we will play .500 ball. The reality is we are going to struggle for a few more years... and the posts tonight... will be Uber normal for the duration.

    Shiznit. If what you are saying about Wimmers is true, that is awful. What the hell happened? Bad luck and scouting has become the Twin's Organizations best friend. Notes should be taken on soft throwers as they are on hard throwers to predict arm injury. This team is a long ways out from contending again. I might have to start attending little league baseball games to see a game effectively executed. I'd rather do that than watch the Saints play. Cool Logo, but watching washed up sub AAA play baseball players give it a go is not on my radar.

    The Twins are at a disadvantage. I cannot see any real contenders who would pursue Span that would give us an advantageous return. I like Span, I think he can be part of the solution. He is the sure bet. Our minor leagues, while highly rated, are unproven and utmostly a crap shoot. Also, Span can play all OF positions more than effectively. A trade I would propose, but is unrealistic would be this: Span, Wimmers, Guerra for Shelby Miller and Jon Jay of the Cardinals.

    I am glad(den) you enjoyed your time putting these stats together. Why Danny Ainge? Why not Chuck Connors or Neon Deion? What is the point? I would much rather read a comprehensive article on how you think Dan Gladden should be immasculated, fired from his job and run out of town. At the very least, an article about his ****ty mullet from the late 80's would have sufficed, Danny Ainge is ho hum...

    As baseball enthusiasts, most of us should be thrilled for a no-hitter. Cudos to you Madame for rejecting Weaver's accomplishment. Fortunately I did not watch this game, but I do have the unfortunate experience of watching Boomer Wells' perfect game against us. It haunts me to this day. I could give a rat's ass about baseball etiquette - bunt, bunt, bunt, bunt, bunt - Kill the No Hitter!!!
