  1. Aw man, Revere is not in the Line-up. Even though he bats LH - if he found a way to get on base via a BB or Bunt/Infield Hit and instill fear with his speed. That could really have profound effect on the mental bearings of the White Sox starting pitcher, what his name.
  2. 1/3 IP - 7ER - 3BB - 1SO... here's to hoping.
  3. According to Brad Nicholson-Smith, who I am assuming is with MLBTR, The Blue Jays have traded Travis Snider for Brad Lincoln. If this were Glen Perkins being traded for Travis Snider, would that be a good trade or a not so good trade? Just wanted to get some TD feedback on this - although a tough decision, I think I would do it. For a young man Travis Snider has fallen out of favor with the Blue Jays fairly quickly... is he a tough nut to crack, does he not fit into their philosophy, or is his position an organizational strength? Thoughts?
  4. Tomorrow is July 31, 2012 and we all might have this date branded into our memory if things don't play out right. Liriano: As we all know, Liriano pitches against us tomorrow, less than 3 days after we traded him. If real life was a movie in the making - this would be the stage for Liriano to throw a no hitter or a shutout with double digit K's. Seemingly for most of us, this trade stung a bit and seemed unnecessary because of the return. Yeah, I get it... Liriano was not coming back after this season and the Twins received some players that will play in MLB for a time... great... feels sort of hollow though. Not to be a Negative Nelly, but I truly hope Frankie sucks tomorrow and gives the South Siders the same headaches for the next few months as we have been dealing with for the last 4 years. Let me make myself clear. In the first decade of the 21st century when the Twins were going good, but failed to make the playoffs - I instantly became a supporter of the National League, I have no interest in cheering on the AL East or West playoff teams and I especially have no place in my heart to root for one of our AL central opponents. When the White Sox won it all in 2005 it made me intensely sick. Fortunately I had a lot going on in my life at that time, which made that sickening feeling less intense. Whomever wins the World Series this year, I hope it is an NL club. Judgement Day (Trade Deadline): It's a crap shoot to guess what will happen tomorrow for the Twins. My guess is there will be no trades made. We have some handsome pieces, but a lot is being asked for in return, which should be the case. If the Twins are overwhelmed with some top grade pitching prospects for Span, Morneau, Willingham, etc., etc. - you have to go for it. It seems that no club wants or will trade these kind of players anymore, so there is seemingly no point to set yourself up for a let down. So far this season we have one Chump Trade under our belt - I see no reason to have another. It is important to keep the fan base happy to some degree... I hope that is the Twins Organization's thought process on this matter. As a Twins fan I hope there is no trade tomorrow. If there is, the disappointment will most probably trump the Liriano trade. Where we stand right now in the world of MLB is that no organization wants to trade their top prospects, especially of the pitching ilk. (I apologize for being redundant) The Twins will need to fix this mess internally. If what I say is the gospel, we better be ready to be patient... very patient. Good Luck to us all on 7.31.12

  6. The big boyz are due up. Let's make this inning count!
  7. We'll win - I predict 11 runs for the Twins. 9 for the Sux.
  8. I think it's going to take an Alexander Hamilton to win this game tonight.
  9. River Brian. I have to agree. Tonight's air has the feeling of a Twins victory!
  10. That's a great question, but a question we will never get an answer to. When I was in my early teens, there was a guy I played with that had a somewhat similar batting set up... he had some power, but couldn't hit worth a "bleep". I guess Ichiro could fall into this category - but it is a bit of a different story. I guess these guys pop up from time to time. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
  11. I couldn't tell you... but somehow he has made it work for the most part.
  12. RB - Not watching the game on TV tonight. Are you talking about his wacktastic batting stance?
  13. I'd be down with a sweep, but more important to me is a victory on Tuesday. This is where Drew Butera is going to bring his real value. I hope he held a 2 hour class today Instructing the Twins position players on how to attack Liriano when they are at the plate... this should be followed by another 2-4 hour class tomorrow leading up to the game. Yeah, I get that the Liriano trade subject has been beat to death, but it seems obvious that a majority of TD Participants did not like the trade (me included). The fellas need to muster up something special tomorrow and destroy and devour Liriano's start. This is the hair of the dog to those of us who are hung over from the Liriano trade. I am pretty sure we deserve this outcome.
  14. I don't see the Twins trading him at this juncture. They would have to pay most of his salary to get an okay return or they would give him away for nothing to rid themselves of his salary. I know there are quite a few on this site who don't give a hoot about Justin anymore and would not mind him being jettisoned. I hope Justin sticks with the Twins, reclaims 90%+ of his baseball abilities and remains the Twins First Baseman throughout this contract and next contract.
  15. For certain I will see their show. Aren't they the second coming of Sigfried and Roy. I'd be a fool to miss this.
  16. If my ears did not betray me today, I believe Bert called Willingham "Winningham". Maybe he has a grower for the actress Mare Winningham?
  17. Easier said than done. If they can do it Fantastique! Money well saved and hopefully allocated to acquiring an upside player.
  18. The one pitcher I can think of that was said to have rehabbed from a partially torn UCL is Takashi Saito. I read this in some article in last year or so - could not say where I read it or if it is accurate.
  19. We have to be near our rock bottom. If that is the case, isn't the next step treatment?
  20. Never Mind? Never mind you. They are in like Flynn!
  21. Normally this would be a fun thread (for another organization). Everything Thrylos has said is correct. If they sign a guy like Sanchez - that's decent, but probably unlikely. It's probably best to not speculate anymore... all it will bring is false hope, followed by anger and disappointment in the off season.
  22. Move over Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz... Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels. There is a new big three hitting the scene... The 3-D's: Scott Diamond, Samuel Deduno and Brian Duensing Watch out AL Central - here we come!!!
