  1. I don't see the AB's. Unless Sano is out.
  2. Could we not sign a Starting Pitcher for 2 year 20 mill??? Pitching is still needed. Not a insurance policy for Sano. Not a waste, but I'd rather see a pitcher.
  3. I still like Vargas. 1 roster spot to hit left and right hand pitching
  4. Romero needs to be a starter till he fails. We don't need him in the Pen as a inning filler. He needs to work on the change-up at AAA. I've got no problem bring him him up later in the year to fill either spot (relief or start). If you'r worried about an option, bring him up later and keep him up. I'm think that if he starts in the Pen, all he'll do is try to throw harder and this does him little good at this point in his career.
  5. Players are individuals. Barrios and Rosario seem to have the drive to make them succeed. I don't trust Sano's drive. I hope he proves me wrong and I'll cheer him on. but I'll also ask for his trade if I feel its best for the Twins. Buxton might have the drive but he might not be able to make the adjustments to become a good hitter, It might take a couple pf years of failure till he changes, because he has enough raw talent to get by. Kepler, not sure, he could be the best or the weakest of them all.Can he get the AVG to .280 with 30hr's and bat 3rd or will he hit .220 and keep being a dead pull hitter?
  6. I still think Littell will make a solid #4 in a year or so. Like all of these young pitchers, they are going to get knocked around in the bigs, The difference is will they or do they have the stones to keep competing and trust their next pitch. It takes time. Also, the AAA staff will be one of the best in the minors.
  7. no Tyler Jay. Would have liked to see Wiel and Catcher Sawyer too.
  8. Would someone clue me in on Romero? I thought he was the next Berrios? He was 3-3 last year with a 4.69era and 45K's in 55 innings and 1.42whip. Why is he not in the running? He's 24 and seen AAA.
  9. The F.O needs to be signing a Solid #2 pitcher for 2 year with an option for the 3rd. The Santana deal was good for the Twins. Why are we not signing Pitchers? And I'm not talking about #3-4 or 5 types. We have the everyday guys. We need some one to back-up Barrios!!! Gibson doesn't cut it.
  10. The Problem is: He is signed and will be taking the place of someone that might have been better, like Gonsalves, Mejia, Moya, Vasquez or Thorpe. We all know that a signed player always gets the playing time over guys under control, so the F.O.'s doesn't look bad, regardless of who's better. I can see Move for one reason. The F.O. wants another Lefty in the pen. Which means not Moya. So I don't see this as an improvement and see it more as a disappointment that the F.O. doesn't trust any of the younger Left Handers are any better then this. Weak move by the F.O. and not necessary! This guy should have Signed a minor league contract with an invite to S.T.
  11. I still have no love for Buxton. Rosario is a good all around player (bat, glove and can run) Kepler is solid defensively and at least hits for power. Buxton-Great Glove. Thats it so far. I think Rosario is proven, Kepler- if he can get the bat a little more solidly on the ball could be .265, 30HR guy. Buxton? I got nothing, 30SB's? Bat 9th? I'm not a Sano guy either, but, he could hit 40Hr's. Sure most of them would mean nothing, but its not out of reach. Buxton????
  12. I don't want to get to far off course, but I don't get the love for Buxton. Yes, he is a great fielder. Yes, he can run, but what is the great outcome to that. 30 SB's? An extra 20 points on the BA? With the way the game is played now, a stolen bases is not that big a deal. As far as Buxton's Bat. What did people expect 30 Hr' .300AVG. Buxton has never had great power or AVG. I see Buxton be simular to a great fieldeing SS that can run. Thats important to a team, but top 5?
  13. This should be the last year guys like Sano,Buxton,Kepler, keep getting a pass on their value. Young guys like Rosario, Berrios and Polanco keep proving their value.
  14. I'd switch Gordon and Gonsalves. I'd also switch Sano and Garver. Nice list so far. As for Sano, I'm done waiting. If he ready next year bat him 8th or trade him for a solid starting pitcher. Power hitters (Sano is) are fickle. We need a bat we can count on everyday in the Middle of the order. We have one now in Cruz.
  15. Sign a Vet- DH/Outfielder, RH. Try to sign or Trade for an ACE. Sign a Middle Infielder, probably a Vet, good defence-solid ab's. Sign a closer. We have the rest covered. Unless we trade someone and then that spot would need to be filled. Let Grossman go. If we sign someone, it should be a for decent $$$ not the cheep filler type player, we have a AAA team for that.
  16. "I thought that was fast until I saw how quickly a large contingent of Twins fans somehow turned on the franchise's most vital asset." Stop drinking the CoolAid!!! No one has given up on Buxton, Buxton has been terrible. Kepler has been disappointing as well. Buxton has a .230 AVG and OPS of .672 and bats 9th in the order. Kepler, just as disappointing with .233 AVG and OPS .733. In the same time Rosario has .280 AVG and OPS of 784. These are the number that they have put up. One more thing, I was a Vargas fan too, not that Vargas was great, but his numbers are better than Buxton or Kepler's. Plus the F.O. went out and signed Morrison, over Vargas, how did that turn out. Why some guys get a pass while others get passed up??? At the end of the day Cave had better numbers then Buxton or Kepler. At some point the talent has to show up and the time is passing quickly. Also, trade Sano ASAP!!!! For pitching.
  17. I've got some real issues with the young core of this team. Kepler,Sano,Buxton. The way I see it going into 2019. If these guys are starting they should be hitting 7th-Kepler, 8th-Sano, 9th Buxton. I think these guys have lost their advantage over guys like Cave,Austin,Astudillo,Garver. Seems like the Core has switched to Polanco,Cave,Garver,Rosario,Austin,Astudillo (Joe if back) as the key hitters. I haven't given up on Kepler,Sano,Buxton, but time is moving on and others have done quite well filling in. So, if these guys don't step up their games, I don't see them as no doubt starters every night and others need to get AB's too. Lets hope they all will step in up including Molly.
  18. Very disappointed in Molly. It took this long to let Astudillo hit 3rd. He did the same with Garver, refusing to let him catch 2 nights in a row, while we had to suffer with no hit Bobby. So for 5 month we had to watch Morrison bat 4 or 5 everyday, while Grossman sat. After Morrison was gone we had to watch Forsythe and Grossman hit 3-4 everyday. Molly seem to have no feel for who is hot and cold and seem to stick players in talent Boxes in which they can't move out of. He's way to rigid with his players for me and seem to have little to no emagination managing the game. I don't think he's a good fit for a young team that is in constant change. He need a steady team of Vet's with the same lineup everyday.
  19. Why can't Astudillo be the DH next year. We don't have one and Molly's love of Grossman is sick (batting him 4th everyday). I'd like to see Garver get some playing time at DH and 1B if he's not catching next year.
  20. I'd agree with Bonnes point #2 and Most of Tom's Points. The real problem is a player going from 4 mil to 20 mil. In the first 6 years the player is underpaid (per value of open market) and then the player is overpaid because of the reduced quality free agents. I would cut the years of control and also raise the arbitration money awarded to be closer to F.A. levels.
  21. bWAR is just one of many stats. This is Kepler 3rd full season in the Bigs, here are the numbers I'm looking at, by year 2016,2017,2018 also Kepler has close to 1400 ab's career. AVG. .235, .243, .226 he's going the wrong way, OBP- .309, .312, .318 Better but just OK. OPS-.734, .737, .734. No improvement, just OK, Now- Cave- Rookie year 200 Ab so far. AVG .261, OBP .310, OBS- .798. This is why I say most of these guys can be replaced. My point is Kepler is not playing above (a -our) replacement Outfielder and isn't showing vast improvement. Kepler is just another Big League Outfielder, And I like the guy, but he's not cutting it, for this team to get to the playoffs, just another 7th place hitter in the league. HO HUM. Same goes for Sano.
  22. This year has been a HUGH let down. After last years late season improvements I though these young guys were putting it together. Now, I have very little faith in this team or do I see anyone worth keeping except for Joe at a discount, Polanco, Berrios and Rosario-but he's got to stop swinging at every pitch. Other then these 4 players, everyone else looks like they could easily be replaced. Biggest disappointments, Sano,Kepler,Buxton. After that we have some OK players- Garver,Hildenberger,Rogers. That gives me 7 Roster players with 33 spots we could fill with other players then we have now. The idea of just wait these guys are young was wasted this year. Sano,Kepler,Polanco,Buxton,Rosario,Berrios as the leaders has been a bust and these guys are not Rookies anymore and I don't see some of these guys getting much better with age. Just my thoughts, is it time to blow this team up or do we just keep waiting on Sano,Buxton,Kepler, and the young pitchers? I'm not seeing it after playing Cleveland and Houston. We are way off the talent of those teams. Very sad I'm having to Post this.
  23. Well, today the 3rd is AAA last game. Now we'll see what the F.O. does. Let me name some of the Guys left that could/should get called up. Anderson,Bard,Baxendale,Curtiss,Eades,Reed. Only Curtiss is on the 40 man roster. In the Field- Vargas,Wade,Pacheco,Petit,Gordon. None of these guys are on the 40 man roster. Of course this list is an exaggeration, but after yesterday's game, arn't some of these guys better and more exciting to watch then Belisle,Duffey,Reed,Gimenez,Field. This is the F.O's choice for the 40 man roster and its piss poor at this point of the season.
