  1. Who cares if Cave is trying to play the game the right way. So stupid. Pitcher should be fined for plunking Kepler. What if he got hurt? What a joke.
  2. 3 k's in 1.2 innings last night. Edit: I bet he gets 2-3 more outings to prove he's healthy and adjust to the role of coming out of the pen and he'll be up before the end of the month.
  3. Kinda sad that they didn't even make a move for Daniel Hudson! Nats give up a nobody for him.
  4. Yes and with the little pitching we have signed for next year, this may very well be the best opportunity to make a deep run in the playoffs. I have no confidence that the offense will be as potent as it is this year. If we, who lack the expertise in baseball knowledge to run a front office, know that the bullpen is doomed in the playoffs, then the guys running the show have to know that they need help in the bullpen. Or if they value the prospects that highly, then they better turn out to be some pretty damn good players. Go for the gold, Twins! Make a big splash!
  5. It's up to the fans to make the front office notice. A boycott of the next homestand would send a message. It really sucks for the players, but it realllly sucks for the fans who invest time and effort into following a franchise. Players will play for anyone who pays them, but fans just can't jump from team to team.
  6. I think this is a good move if it's not the only move they make. Some how, they get a interchangeable prospect, and lotto ticket, AND a bullpen addition for a guy who may or may not be a MLB player ever.
  7. I definitely don't have playoff expectations after this past month and the way that the FO is going about the trade deadline. I don't know, boys; it's not looking good.
  8. Almost feels like the Twins need to sweep this series. Boys need a jolt. Momentum is swinging towards those bozos on Lake Erie.
  9. I think the Twins will hardly have to gut the system to acquire talent. The Twins farm system is nationally touted as top 10. Ahead of Yankees and Astros. Twins have three/four top 100 (three top 50) prospect. Most of the major deals over the past couple years have rarely included more than one top 50 prospect. Prospects are a dime a dozen. Need to utilize their value and sometimes their value is tradebait. And sometimes, you have to give up talent to acquire talent. I'd consider the deadline a failure without acquiring two top notch relievers.
  10. Yikes. Not a great way to head into the all star break. Indians gained 4.5 games in less than two weeks. I have an awful feeling that the Twins will be playing in the Wild Card game, if that at all. Come on, boys! Gotta come out swinging in that series against the Indians coming out of the break. I feel like this is a must win series. Can't lose anymore games in the standings.
  11. Really hate striking out on Stewart and Jay. Guess that really shows how unpredictable the MLB draft can be. I remember people kind of questioning the Tyler Jay pick, but if I remember correctly analysts and fans were pretty happy with the Stewart pick.
  12. Seems like there are plenty of options out there that could help the bullpen. It will be a crying shame if at least two relievers are not added to the roster.
  13. I like the idea of trying to get Giles and Stroman. With all the Twins Minor Leaguer's on the IL it kind of makes swinging a deal tough. I'm in the mindset that you trade prospects for proven major league ballplayers. If Toronto is interested in Lewis, I think you have to listen. I'd rather have a World Series than Royce Lewis in the system.
  14. Would have liked to have seen that lefty from Kentucky be the guy. I guess we'll see in a couple years.
  15. There's over 100 games left in the season. Let's save this conversation for the offseason. Let's say they in 110 games and win the world series. Would be the best team of Twin history. Let's say they flop the rest of the year and only get to 85-88 wins. No one cares. Let's just enjoy the season so far and hopefully continue to enjoy this season.
  16. I once read that when choosing a doubles partner you must first think about ending that relationship. If you cannot separate emotion from skill, you will never be a successful doubles partner.
  17. What a great acquisition. Dude was a stud until plantar facietus took over. Damn you Metrodome!
  18. Agreed 100%. I haven't read anything saying that Sano is a bad teammate or a clubhouse problem. From all accounts all the dude wants to do is win and help his team in anyway he can. He's made a bunch of mistakes, but is still a young guy. Sometimes getting rich quick leads to issues. I just hope he comes back and helps this team win a World Series.
  19. There was an great comment about Schoop the other day and how he feel to be a Twin. This isn't exact, but it was along the lines of: a player on Baltimore asked Schoop how he liked being in Minnesota and he turned and opened his arms and said it's wonderful.
  20. I wonder what it would take to take a run at Bumgarner and Will Smith from the Giants... Could it get done without giving up 2 of Lewis, Kirilloff, or Graterol?
