  1. He should definitely keep playing the larger left field to maximize his lack of range and minimize his excellent arm. We need to do everything possible to never disturb Kepler’s comfort zone, ever.
  2. I formally request that everyone keep pretending that Correa sucks. We don’t want to jinx this. BOO CARLOS GO HOME YOU’RE TERRIBLE
  3. It's prospect voting time again! A quick reminder of how it works: 1. You must have an account and be logged in to vote. If you don't have an account, click here. It literally requires 60 seconds to create an account. 2. Review our current top 20 prospect list, catch up on stats, rankings, etc. 3. Have your prospect list in your dirty little paws? Then flip on over to the new prospect voting page (after reading the rest of this, please). 4. Voting is super simple, you drag and drop players in the order you wish them to be. After you move a prospect, the list automatically renumbers so you don't lose track of the order. This works on mobile devices but it's a *vastly* better experience on desktop. Sorry, that's just how this kind of thing works. There's no great way to make something like this be as awesome on a phone screen. 5. Each prospect has a comment section where you can add any commentary you have on that player. At the bottom of the list, there is a general comment section to explain over-arching things you wish to mention. 6. Don't see a prospect you want to put on the list? Just pop back here and give me a mention (in a comment, start typing @Brock Beauchamp and then select my name when it appears). Mention the prospect you want added and I will do that asap. 7. Once you're done with all of it, click Save. You've now voted! 8. When the voting closes, a new thread will automatically generate in this forum with all of your rankings and comments for everyone to read and talk about. 9. You can only vote once. If you have voted in error, pop back here and again tag me, asking to have your vote deleted. I will remove it and you can vote again. Voting will close at end of day Tuesday August 15th!
  4. It's really simple: lefties are bad against lefties. It's smart management to mitigate your weakness against LHP pitching, at least as much as Baldelli can given the fact that every Minnesota Twin now appears to be terrible against lefties in 2023.
  5. I think FanGraphs' WAR is a little better at valuing the things a pitcher can control and Arraez and Lopez are in a virtual lock there with 3.2 and 3.3 fWAR. And that checks out with Lopez, particularly if you look at his gaudy baseball savant page below. It was a good trade. I like both players a lot. I hope everyone does well.
  6. The Twins offense has scored only nine fewer runs than the Blue Jays offense. The Twins offense has scored 25 more runs than the Yankees offense.
  7. Unless Julien improves dramatically at second base, he's not a second baseman long-term. I'm not the least bit concerned about Julien crowding the middle infield; if he manages to somehow do so, good on him. But it probably ain't happening.
  8. Did I accidentally rewind bally sports north to 2019
  9. Pham was traded for a player in low A. The cost was negligible and wouldn't impact the Twins for many years, if ever. Is there a risk there? Sure, but it's a small one that probably doesn't effect this front office because if they don't win more games, they won't be here if that player reaches the majors anyway.
  10. I don't see much harm in adding Keuchel and giving him 3-4 starts with a six man rotation, especially given the relative struggles of the rotation post-break. I'm at the point where I understand virtually nothing the front office has done in the past month.
  11. The Twins also won postseason games in 2003 and 2004.
  12. No, standing pat did not make sense. I didn't expect or even want huge additions but a capable RH bat and a capable RH reliever were eminently gettable. The front office didn't clear that relatively low bar.
  13. The thing is that I think your descriptor maybe isn't accurate while mine is.
  14. Here's a snippet. I'm going to be honest here and it took me so long to find this. I've worked an obscene amount of hours lately and may have eaten something shortly after the deadline that makes it really hard to do... well, pretty much everything.
  15. I've heard Falvey audio. It's only worth listening to if you want to get angrier.
  16. So, as it turns out, the Twins front office was out of duct tape. Should have paid for prime shipping.
  17. It's time to move on from Kepler, he's not very good anymore. Not sure what Gallo has to do with this conversation, he was a one-year FA signing.
  18. Aaron Civale is Louie Varland? I'll strongly disagree about that. And it's one thing to trade away a player, it's something else to trade away a player during a divisional race and only getting a minor leaguer in return. Rumor has it Cleveland is now looking to trade for a starter. It's a bad look to fans.
  19. They also worked hard to keep Buxton and Correa, amongst others (the 2019 signings). Just because they don't only do squishy stuff doesn't invalidate when they do factor in long-term player contracts. They're a mid-market team, they can't just keep everybody.
  20. My argument is that Minnesota is beating Cleveland in attendance when Cleveland should be well ahead of Minnesota based on 2022 results. Ticket sales lag behind one season, it's been documented and researched more times than I can count. Cleveland's attendance sucks compared to their on-field performance and it has for years. Go look at Brewers attendance some time. They're similarly competitive to Cleveland and play in an even smaller market. But they don't run their franchise like an auction house.
  21. Cleveland won the division and went to the postseason last year. The vast majority of tickets sold in a season are sold before the first pitch on Opening Day.
  22. I notice you left Cleveland's not-good attendance out of this statement. Yes, the Rays' stadium sucks. If you think that's their only problem, you're not really paying attention. There is a distinct downside to operating as they do and that's fan apathy due to a revolving door of players and cheap ownership. Traits both the Guardians and Rays share in abundance.
  23. NFTs, notoriously linked to their squishiness.
