As we gear up for another season of Twins baseball, it's time to look at the community members who made Twins Daily great over the winter.
Hello again, Twins fans! Twice a year, I sit down and find the most popular posts and blogs on Twins Daily and their creators receive prizes for their contributions to the sprawling behemoth that is Twins Daily. While this offseason wasn't as action-packed as previous winters, there was still a lot to talk about. We look at the most popular posts and most popular blogs created by our users.
Let's dive into the most popular content of the offseason.
Most Popular Post
Congratulations to @1985Fan with the most popular post of the offseason! We were all shocked by the sudden announcement of Alex Kirilloff's retirement and 1985Fan captured our sentiments by wishing him the best of luck in his post-baseball career. It's sad to see someone never even come close to their potential due solely to the limitations of the human body.
For this well-liked post, you win this box of 1988 Topps cards! Please private message @Brock Beauchamp with your address so I can ship this fun prize to you!
Most Popular Post Runner-Up
While there is no prize for coming in second, we still want to acknowledge @MMMordabito for commenting on the then-recent signing of Harrison Bader, pointing out that it's always a good idea to pick up Byron Buxton insurance... but if you're sacrificing plate appearances of left-handed batters in the fourth inning, maybe reconsider that approach.
Most Popular Blog Post
Did you know where Yogi Berra got his nickname? I didn't. In this awesome blog post from @Paul D, they break down some of the best nicknames in baseball history. Give the blog post a read, it's a ton of fun.
For this great blog post, Paul's prize is this wooden Minnesota Twins puzzle! Paul, send a private message to @Brock Beauchamp with your mailing address so I can send you this puzzle!
Most Popular Blog Post Runner-Up
@Doc Munson has been a presence on Twins Daily for years and, unsurprisingly, their blog entries are quite popular. In a moment of prescience, Doc points out that the Twins should be interested in Dom Smith "due to our injury history".
Uh... Well, yeah. With the first two options at third already injured this season, that tracks.
Most Prolific Poster
We always like to hat-tip the poster who earned the most reputation points and this winter, that poster is @tony&rodney. Thank you for being such an instrumental part of Twins Daily and the community!
Prolific Players Project Poster
This is a new category and one I want to bring a lot of attention to, as the Players Project (as far as I know) is a feature entirely unique to Twins Daily. It's a wiki-style project that allows every Twins Daily user to create and edit pages for their favorite Twins players, past and present, and create a working repository of information, videos, and much more for every player to don a Twins uniform.
For @William Malone and their creation of a whopping 36 players this winter, they are now proud owners of this very cool Twins Dugout Mug! William, private message @Brock Beauchamp and let me know your mailing address!
That's all for this winter, folks. Give a round of applause to all of those mentioned in this piece and here's to a successful 2025 season for the Twins!
