  1. Maybe. Cross that bridge when we come to it. As of right now, he is blocking absolutely no one.
  2. I think Paddack has surplus value at $7.5m. If he even has the smallest chance of starting 20+ games, that's a steal once you look at what some guys have been getting this offseason. Would you rather have Scherzer at $15.5m or Paddack at $7.5m? I might choose Paddack, it's close.
  3. Getting upset about signing a competent CF backup for $6m is silly. But there is reason to be wary when it's entirely possible that $6m will come at the expense of shipping out Paddack or Vazquez.
  4. If given a choice between Bader and Martin in the outfield, I choose Bader 147 times out of 10.
  5. Must... not... promote... this... comment...
  6. That was my impression, yes. Maybe a day or two apart? Close together.
  7. We don't know what the delay was, it was confusing all of us for several days.
  8. We've known about this move for a week. You're going to be reading A LOT about Danny Coulombe in the coming days and YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE IT. Seriously, though, that's how desperate we all are to talk about real baseball moves. Everyone lined up to analyze Danny-freaking-Coulombe.
  9. This published on Jays Centre over the weekend and thought I'd share it here. Oh man were we baseball nerds wrong about Bobby back in the day. Bobby Kielty, Greek God of Vibes - History - Jays Centre JAYSCENTRE.COM An early sabermetric darling, Bobby Kielty was an outfielder who never fully put it together in the majors.
  10. Congratulations to @T.O. for being the first person brave enough to create a Hall of Famer page on the players project!
  11. Vic Albury was born in Sanford, Florida and played with the Twins from 1973 to 1976. Albury signed with the Cleveland Indians as an amateur free agent in 1965. Albury spent several years developing his craft in the minor leagues before being traded to the Minnesota Twins in 1969. Once in the Twins organization, the left-handed Albury worked his way through the minor league system, steadily improving and demonstrating his versatility on the mound. His dedication and perseverance paid off when he earned his call-up to the majors in 1973, marking the start of his MLB career with the Minnesota Twins. Albury made his MLB debut on April 7, 1973, and quickly established himself as a reliable option for the Twins' pitching staff. Over the course of his career, he appeared in 110 games, starting 44 of them. He accumulated a career win-loss record of 18–17 and 4.11 ERA. After leaving the Twins following the 1976 season, he retired from professional baseball. View full player

  13. Dude, I don’t care for ~30% of what we publish here. And that’s TOTALLY FINE. I don’t have to love and agree with every single thing, that’s boring. This place is built to allow content creators to find their voice and hone the craft while getting paid for it. That’s pretty cool and leads to a wide disparity of opinions and views while always striving to be respectful and informative.
  14. A ton, actually, because the Winter Meltdown is wildly popular and happening in seven days. The thing is that the overwhelming majority of people simply DO NOT CARE if every article is exactly to their liking. They have better things to concern themselves with in life. We have our views, you have yours. 99% of our pieces don’t sniff a topic that’s even politics-adjacent.
  15. In a word, yes. That's how owning a business works.
  16. This is the written word so it's technically libelous, not slanderous. Also,
  17. I think this series of articles has been excellent, Peter. Thank you for all the research and putting it together.
  18. You'd have to talk to @John Bonnes about that. We discuss it every year then never move on actually doing it.
  19. This series of articles has done very well in reads, so perhaps you're just wrong that people don't care why a family is selling a team they owned for four decades.
  20. Ari Alexander reported that several teams are showing interest in 34-year-old right-handed reliever Nick Anderson while Doogie Wolfson reported the Twins are expected to be in attendance. Anderson was once a promising arm that couldn't stay on the field. He burst onto the scene in 2019 with the Tampa Bay Rays before injuries got hold of him. He only pitched 57 innings combined in the four seasons of 2020-2023. In 2024, he signed with the Royals and had a less-than-spectacular season. His K rate plummeted to just 19% while his expected stats (xERA, FIP) started with a "five".

  22. Oh yeah, I didn't mean it that way. I just meant it's a good time to get out because this team is borrrrrrrringgggggg.
  23. Smart time to get out of the Twins business. Also, good for Do!
