October 2023 Update (End of Season)
Following his eye-popping power display in the Dominican Summer League in 2022 (13 HR, .605 SLG in 55 games), Rodriguez moved up to the Florida Complex League and took a step backward. His .262/.325/.412 (.737) slash line in 209 PA was plenty respectable for an 18-year-old on the circuit, but this time around J-Rod was not a clear-cut star of the league. As a fairly slow-footed right fielder, he'll be reliant on that power returning to make his name.

July 2023 Update
Rarely does a teenage player come through the Dominican Summer League and do what Jose Rodriguez did last year, when he mashed 13 homers and slugged .605 in 55 games to take the circuit by storm. He made the jump this year to the Florida Complex League, which got underway in June, and the outfielder's power hasn't been nearly as pronounced. Rodriguez has more than held his own, however, and it's still very early for him.
