It would be bad for scheduling purposes but totally remarkable if the Vikings were able to finish in 3rd place, all things considered. Real shame McCarthy was lost. He was showing such progress. Would have the tiebreaker over Detroit

I just figured they would finish those last 5 games 1-4 maybe 2-3. If McCarthy had played like he was playing before, 1-4 or 0-5 wasn’t out of the question. Granted, we’ve played some pretty bad teams.

The NFC East and AFC North turned out to be the trash divisions this year and we got both scheduled this year. I do hope we can see McCarthy the next 2 games against division opponents but it didn't look good. If this is the last game we saw McCarthy then I'm not sold on him being the QB of the future. Looking good against bottom 5 pass defenses in WAS, DAL, NYG isn't getting me too excited.

It would have been hard as hell to lose out with how bad Washington and especially the giants are. Giants simply didn’t try to win today right from the start when they went for it on 4th and 5 lol 13 passes in an NFL game in dry weather post-1960 is crazy

So every team in the AFC looks good but not great. Seems like the perfect storm for Pittsburgh to unexpectedly get to the Super Bowl and snag Tomlin a 20 year extension.

I hate to say this but yeah, at this stage, i am really counting on that 4th place schedule next year. It’s the difference between getting the Giants again versus a rebounding Washington team, and getting the Cardinals instead of SF/LAR/Seattle. Huge. (I think I have those divisional rotations right.)

Any body know how the NFL schedules that 17th game? That could be huge too with a 4th place schedule.
