Varland has velocity on his pitches. But most major league hitters won't have much trouble if those pitches are left over the heart of the plate. Hopefully Stewart is back soon so Lou can go into a low leverage, long relief role.

Here’s the problem… Duran only threw 8 pitches yesterday…. Then for some reason he brings him in the 8th inning today? For what reason? I know it’s early in the season and he didn’t want to put him back out there after 12 pitches but for Christ sake why did he come in the 8th inning?? Rocco has absolutely no idea what he is doing. He needs to stop looking at a computer to tell him how he should run his lineups and pitching staff.

Well our 2 best bullpen guys have been used and now we go to the 10th all tied up  ...

Rocco went with his gut on Duran in the 8th and Jax in the 9th , how many times in this season we see our closer  not close out a game ...

Gut??? I guarantee he went with his f'ing clipboard. He does not have a manager's gut sense whatsoever.
