It's Roberto Clemente Day, celebrated by MLB. Clemente is best known for his 12 Gold Gloves, 4 batting titles, BA over .300 for 13 seasons and he had 3,000 hits during his major league career. His humanitarianism shines just as brightly, having delivered food and baseball equipment throughout Latin America. Tragically, he perished in a plane crash at age 38 while taking relief supplies to an  earthquake ravaged Nicaragua.

I remember watching a weekend game on network TV. Clemente's arm was just phenomenal in throwing to 3rd and home. Almost made a cutoff man redundant.
